'17 AU WDE Big Kat Bryant (UCF)

He didn't get caught. He was told on by a staff member, former coach, and player. He didn't have to start anywhere else people that work at UT and boosters need to learn that discourse doesn't hurt the coaches because they get new jobs elsewhere and UT continues to struggle. The issue is from the top to the bottom nobody has a clue what it takes to recruit and build. Everyone seems to think integrity wins in recruiting but it doesn't. When you tell on yourself and say silly shyt in press conferences that only adds to the fire power of the other schools who recruit against you. Coaches talk and agents likewise. The word is UT is a cemetery for coaches and the administration is awful. This is why they can't hire a DC too. The common sentiment is the money offered is not worth the stress and strain because they don't want to win by any means. The switching and press conference really hurt. If Kacy is the hire then our defense will likely be no better because when he was an NFL DC with a good roster they were coleslaw. College offense is much more complex.
Does the admin suck now bc Pruitt isn’t here? Names and faces change but the ppl running behind the scenes don’t. We were a mess BEFORE Pruitt got here. So why would he come to a graveyard. It’s funny we like to blame the faces we “publicly” see when the real players are behind the scenes.

The entire administration has changed since Pruitt was hired. Chancellor, President and AD. The only thing that hasn’t is the boosters but with a strong admin on the same page they can keep the boosters from meddling (like with Dickey was the AD)

I think this new admin has a good chance to right the ship.

New admins > Old admins

@de1conley Any thoughts on the Garner and Mack hires?

And what about a possible Josh Conklin as DC? Not in terms of record, but people-wise. Having spent time here, y’all may have crossed paths?

You're spot on about this entire situation. Most of these clowns either don't know or refuse to acknowledge what it takes to build and maintain a top tier program. The admin has doomed the program to mediocrity or worse for at least the next 6 years.

Maybe dont treat everyone at the university like **** next time? Dont leave out the fact he did that too.

He got sold out by the boosters that were willing participants when they liked him. Not sure why he continues to bash DP. She had no choice with what got put on her desk. Once she sees it she has to act or else she gets caught up in it if it comes out later. Everyone is supposed to keep those things from school admins eyesight so they can deny knowing despite knowing. Once someone shoved it all in her face they tied her hands. Blame the snitch that got the staff member to turn everything in

I'm not playing the blame game. I'm calling a spade a spade. Conley wants to defend a ****** coach who treated everybody like garbage while he was here and then complain about it when simply not being a complete ******* would have likely not lead to the situation we find ourselves in now.

So is it the admin or former staff members that is to blame? I'm confused because you're careening across multiple lanes.

These posts represent the amoral attitudes that prevail in today's athletics and show the true colors of folks who don't know themselves how to win (the right way). Nor do they really know how to build anything lasting, especially a program with long-term success.

The fact that these attitudes are openly touted and openly embraced by people who supposedly influences the decisions of young men is in the least concerning. The fact that their influence over the young men is in part responsible for the young men's development, those foundational building blocks for the young men's future character development is distasteful.

This way of thinking, the lean toward encouraging bad behavior, and the eager embrace of the easy path, shortsightedness, and "get rich quick" mentality is a choice that I hope the players who come to Tennessee don't aspire to.

Lol.......posting a gif that says "He's right you know" doesn't do anything to make what he said any less WRONG.

So you burn down the football program because you thought the guy was a dick? Makes sense....
Everyone is so blinded by the NOW. "Burn down the football program" is such a ridiculous statement. It has been repeated a lot. With the RIGHT coaches and admin the program can get back to where it needs to be. And with the right players in a couple key spots (QB, Pass rushers) it can happen fairly quickly. It takes pain to get to where you need to be. Do you have the stomach for some temporary pain that will result in long term results? Many people do not. It is why some athletes refuse to train hard enough because it is tough, painful, unpleasant. It is why our government refuses to fix the issues with our economy because they know what needs to happen is going to be painful in the short term. But it is what is needed for the long term. Instead we are going to let it fester until it blows up. UT didn't let it fester until it blew up on its own. UT knew it had a problem what WAS going to pop at some point so they ripped the Band-Aid off themselves so they could get it healed.

Yep, UT threw out the baby with the bath water and will be much better off going forward

This post reflects the nonsensical attitude of deriving one's morals from athletes and athletics in general. I don't support or watch the game because the players are "good guys". Example: Ray Lewis and Lawrence Taylor are terrible people generally speaking but also arguably the best to ever play their positions. Do I look up to them for my morality? Nope. Do I admire what they do between the sidelines? Very much. I suggest instead of looking to athletes for you're moral pillars of strength maybe find a good church or community leader.

Please elaborate how using the same tactics that Pruitt and Neids used in Tuscaloosa limits long term success because it sure seems to be working well for Alabama. The only difference is the coach and team weren't supported by the University in Knoxville. Hell for that matter how'd the multiple scandals treat the Patriots? How about every Nascar team that's ever existed? Isn't it widely accepted at the track: "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying?"
