I am applying to the University of Tennessee this week to enroll for the Fall of 2009. UTK is the only school I want to go to and I feel like I will be on the line as to getting in out of state with the recent admission standards rising. With that said, if anyone has any advice as to how to help get myself admitted that would be great.

The main point of this thread is to ask what is the best dorm room to apply for and in what order would you rank them. When I apply, I also have to apply for the student housing at the same time.

Any and all help would be great.
Thanks,

and any dorms besides Melrose are really comprable. Hess is right in the middle of campus and next to the library.

They took whoever when I applied, so I never worried. Good luck to you, though.

I liked North Carrick. Not the best place, but I had a good time. Morrill seemed to have the best sense of community out of the dorms I had gone in, but if you have some other extracurriculars, that shouldn't matter too much.

i have a 3.3 gpa and a 24 act so its going to be close. The admission standards have skyrocketed as of late which worries me.

Man, you must've really been screwing up the curve for the rest of Ohio

I attend the third largest school in Ohio, and one of the best (in Ohio) and nationally recognized high school, so it isn't like I go to a blow off school by no means.

I know Melrose is a dump, but when I was in school it was by far the most interesting place to live on campus, IMO, just from all the international students who lived there. Everything else is pretty generic.

My dad stayed in Melrose in the 1970s and he said it was pretty rough back then even. I can't imagine what it is like now!

One time he was in the shower and a family of rats ran across the floor!

Either I just got transported to the land of guys who take things too literally, or somebody is trying to kill me with straight lines.

I lived in Melrose from Fall 06-Spring 07. It had quite a large asian population... But they all seemed to hang out together and live in the same area of the hall (the basement).

It's not quite that bad. Just no AC and tiny tiny rooms, although I got a big room at the semester change thank goodness.

It's been a while since I was there (and may have changed) but I loved living in Presidential. All the freshmen were pretty much in one place. I lived in Reese during my 1st year

I lived in North carrick for my freshman year and it wasn't bad. The courtyard is definitley the place to live.

Any of the 4 by Pres Court, with Morrill being the one I liked. I never lived on campus, but I slept with a girl who lived in Morrill.

I lived in Hess. It was a zoo then....
