I had to split my tickets this year with a friend, so I won't be there this week, unfortunately. If I could be there, I would.

You nah sayers are wrong. Will be over 88,000. No not great.....When is the last time we had a home crowd in the 70's? Not since I've been following the Vols. 1973

There were definitey crowds in the 70,000s in the middle part of the 1970s. In fact, there were crowds of less than 70,000 for a couple of years after 1973 since the total capacity was right at 70,000.

I think capacity went above 80,000 in 78?

I thought the crowd at the 2011 MTSU game was in the 70's. Not announced, mind you, but actual fans in attendance.

That was a Nov. night game and LSU/Bama was on primetime.

I'm pretty sure they inflate the #'s a bit at the games, unless they are including people working the games as well.

They've always counted "everybody" in the stadium. Otherwise, you would never have over capacity unless they distribute SRO tickets which they haven't done in many years.

I hated those tickets. I wound up with them a few times, and having a fear of heights made them really hard to enjoy a game when my back was to the fence at top bleacher.

They were always in GG or HH, weren't they? I remember the 1990 UF game we had SRO's.

Well we had, what mid-80s for WKU? And that was before Oregon and Florida, and it's another early game, so I can definitely see around 80K legit, and announced slightly higher. It could get in the 70s but I doubt it.

GBO. I would have to say actual "butts in chairs" will be around 65,000. Did anyone else notice the empty seats at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium? Wow, times have changed.

I can't go this weekend but I had little trouble giving 6 tickets away to folks who want to go. I had trouble giving tickets away last year. Maybe the falloff will not be so bad this time around.

82,341 loyal but frustrated Vol fans longing for a win over a top 25 team. Nothing like a Saturday in Neyland regardless of the opponent, we must protect our house.

Not so much a sign of the times as it is a sign of the rivalry. Especially from UF's perspective.

There will be plenty of tickets given away this weekend. Sorry I can't buy this excuse

Excuse? I have a 12 week old baby and split my season tickets with a friend, so I can spend time at home with my wife and kid and not be gone each week. We already have purchased season tickets, and my friend is going with his son this weekend... I don't understand why you "can't buy this excuse." Don't be a jackass.
