What do you all predict the attendance tomorrow for the game will be? i say 103 thousand plus... but rumors are swirling people are trying to prove a point by not going or some bull crap like that.. i think the people that admit to this should be banned from ever purchasing ut tickets ever again

I never put much stock in rumors.

Still, if the Vols keep losing, attendance will fall. There will always be a large fan base, but the crowds will shrink as long as the Vols play the low-caliber ball that has become their standard fare of late.

The last sentence betrays a completely juvenile attitude towards what is clearly a disenchanted fan base.

Only you and the Emperor like his new suit of clothes.

This is just like the idea of rooting for the Vols to lose. Could not do it. If I were in Knoxville, I would be going to the game.

I am flying in Oct. 5th.

What is that, GA game? It would be nice to meet some of you guys sometime. I think the only game I am going to this year is USC. Used to go to all the home games but got a 1 year old now and it is too much trouble.

Yeah, it's GA. I would really like to meet some of the people on here. I understand about the 1 year old. I got the kitchen pass from the wife to come to the GA game solo. :) It will be my first home game since the '05 debacle.

I've never really been to one of these paycheck games against a directional school, just assumed that not nearly as many people show up. I can say this, in the past amongst my small small corner of the universe there have always been lots of free tickets available for these types of games. The same is true this year but the difference is nobody wants to take them. I have a feeling there will not be an official report on turnstile admissions. Instead, the attendance numbers will be based on tickets sold. It will probably be an interesting debate next week with opposing photographs and the like.

I don't know what it would prove either. I pay way too much for my tickets to just throw them away like that....I have never been a fair weather fan, and I don't plan on starting now, I have always been a Vol fan, and I always will be no matter how disgusted I get from time to time. GO VOLS!!!!

as someone that could rarely get tickets to the big sec games once out of college, i've been to my fair share of Memphis, Duke, Rutgers, UNLV etc...type games. the atmosphere is not as good, and the stadium even with 98,000 people in looks completely empty. the duke, rutgers and MSU games a few years ago were awful. the pre game is dead as well on the strip. two totally different worlds with this type of game vs an SEC game.

and Vader, i may be up for that......maybe when we get closer to the game we can set up one of those "volnation meet and greets" people have done in the past at the brewery on Gay st.

If anyone wanted to prove a point by turning up less than 100K, they could direct it to the higher ups by saying this is a sign showing lost revenue for this sort of performance. Not saying I agree with this strategery but it could make a point showing less tickets means less money. And at the end of the day it is all about money.

does it really matter though to the higher ups if people don't show up to seats that are already paid for?

The atmosphere before the Air Force game last year was pretty good. I'm sure because we just killed Cal. That is about the only non conference, small time team game that I've been too that the pregame was anywhere near a Florida, Georgia, So. Carolina pregame.

Well I think it sends a signal about future games(seasons) which are not already paid for.
you and i both know that won't last. when GA rolls in to town in two weeks, there will be 104,000+ folks packed in that stadium, and hopefully i'll be one of them.

it'll be the same for Ark and SC as well.

bottom line, the AD and higher ups have nothing to fear in revenue drops from ticket holders.......
