Why do most of you go out of your way to insult Fulmer? I know I will get buried for this thread but I don't care. The level of hate that he gets is unjustified.

So many of this fanbase are complete ingrates and only see the last 5 years of his tenure as applicable.

At what point, do we as fans move on?

It was his time to go but that doesn't mean we have to go to the greatest lengths available to insult the man.

I've never really understood it either.

It's not like the man left in the middle of the night. I appreciate a 152-52 career record.

Me either...it's more than okay to be disappointed and angry at what unfolded the last couple of years, nothing worng with that.

But to keep up insulting the guy after he was fired a few years ago is childish.

I personally like the guy. He was the first UT coach I knew growing up as a fan. He did UT well and had hard times the last few years. He was one of the coaches responsible for making us who we were/are. I don't think it is justified to insult the man. I'm with you GahLee. That's what the first amendment is for I guess tho....

What better way to make it stop then to create another thread on the subject.

Every coach goes through slumps, He would have recovered a lot faster than we are at this point..

It is seriously embarrassing at times...you come on this site and see thread after thread where he is a punchline.

I agree on all accounts. Proud of what he accomplished as a coach. Hated to see us drop the way we did through the last few years while he was coach. Firmly agreed that it was time for him to go, but never did and never will degrade the man as a person.

We would of had a 10-2 SEASON IF HE WAS HERE... Just saying

Share what your smoking....just sayin.....no way we would have won 10 games with Fulmer coaching......

But in honestly I don't hate him. I was disappointed with his last few years and think he should have been let to a year or two before he did

I'm glad he is no longer our coach. That being said, though, I still like the guy have tons of respect for him and what he did for our University and football program.

No way to know for sure, not the point in my mind.

It is the out of the way insults that are absurd. Seems like it has become the "in" thing to so these days.

I like CPF but doubt your claim above. He became lax, recruiting slipped significantly. Our teams didn't have the fire of yore, and the program had already gone to hell long before he was fired. He just got too darn comfortable and lost the hunger of his earlier days. I'm not a football guru but could actually pre-call the plays Fulmer employed with 95% or better accuracy. if a nitwit like me could do that, is it any wonder opposing coaches were stopping us so regularly, even Wyoming?

WTF does your post have to do with the fact that the OP is sad that Phil is being picked on and decided to create the 100th thread on the subject calling for it to stop?

this is coming from a guy who created a "quit picking on fulmer" thread

I would just like to see us as a fanbase grow up a little, get past it. It is over and done with, why we feel like we have to continually beat a dead horse is beyond me.

For every thread like this, there are 5 that are full of fat jokes.

Name one coach who has won a National Title that isn't arrogant?

Good luck with that.

Neyland, Bryant and a few others They're not arrogant, they're dead. Darn fine luck it was. :loco:
