Something in Common?

Out of the slumping programs...
Miami, NDame, Meechigan, Auburn...would you stick with Fulmer or rather have have any of the head coaches above to get us out of the cellar right now?

the positive at ND is that they have a former NFL coach and start the recruiting campaign somewhere near the top rung of competitiveness. We have to win big to remain on that top rung over time, their golden dome pretty much keeps them there. That's a luxury that we can never claim.

I would rather stick with Fulmer than take any of those guys!

I'd take Weis and Shannon over Fulmer. For Shannon, just because it can't be worse than Fulmer at this point.

whoever said blame the small schools for not having a playoff is wrong. Its the larger schools that get the LARGER payout that are against the playoffs. The smaller schools would welcome a playoff because they would get the chance to move out of the toiet bowls and a chance to make a run. Cause i mean as we have seen this year, there are no give-mes in college football. You have to tie your shoes, put your pads and helmet on and play the game. IF you look at it, most of the boards that make the decisions are ran by people from large schools. I personally love watching and keeping up with the I-AA playoffs, (well mainly because my alma mater is usually in them)

Yes I am sure that the small schools would love to give up a dozen toilet bowls that they have conference tie-ins to for a playoff system that will largely ignore them.

well if they did it like they did in I-AA the good ones would get in, and the ones that dont make the torney can go play their toilet bowl,,, simple solution. but i must submit to the football god that is led haha just kidding

I actually think that a hybrid bowl/playoff system would work. All I ever hear is how small schools are afraid of it, because it makes bowls obsolete and corporate sponsors will pull money from bowls and invest in the playoff system. The bowl system isn't the best at picking a champion, but it does spread a lot of money around to a lot of schools. And there is no denying D-1 college sports are about money.

oh yah i agree, D-I is money, presidents say that a playoff would extend the seasons blah blah blah but we all know thats bullshi+ its all about the money. If you took and did a playoff where it was only the conference champions from all the conferences, and played, concurrently with the bowl games, if i had time and more resources i could figure out how to do the money situation, but i have neither, the green eyed monster rolls on i guess,,,
