Bud Light presents Real Men of Genius

Today we salute you, Mr. Delusional, Irrational Notre Dame
football Fan....

Season after season, year after year, you try to justify
your absurdly high pre-season ranking.
Backup singer: Why aren't we number one??
You scramble to make futile
attempts at damage control when
the Irish lose to yet another grossly inferior opponent.
Backup singer: Charlie's headset was broken!

Inevitably, you'll bring up the past, and boast of
championships won 20 years before you were born.
Backup singer: We wore leather helmets!!

You will point out that you have more heisman winners than
any other program, as though that is relevant to the current season.
Backup singer: Been playing since the 1880ssssss!

Go on, ignore that home loss to BostonCollege in the
regular season for the 6th consecutive time in a row...
Backup singer: BC has better Christians!!

And continue to believe that you'll actually win a bowl game
some time this century.
Backup singer: We're O for the 2000's!!!

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Emperor of Excuses,
and take comfort knowing that when you don't finish in the top 25,
you'll
be back to number three when the pre-season polls come out next year.
Backup singer: Mr. Delusional, Irrational and Hopelessly Pathetic Irish
Fannnnnnn!

Yea we can laugh now, but in 5 years after Weis has been to 3 more BCS games and we haven't been to one it won't be so funny. Actually they went to 2 BCS games the last 2 years, which is 2 more than us, so I don't really think we can laugh at all. I hate ND but they are a program on the rise, and we have fallen off the national map. At least their disappointing season merits national coverage. Since 2005, the national media expects us to suck. We really have a lot to be proud of. One win over Southern Miss.

Ga. Tech and Penn St. would clobber us this year. We'd have a chance against Mich, but somebody would have to actually tackle Mike Hart. As for the BC line in the song, they'd kick the crap out of us too. Keep in mind ND replaced 9 seniors with 8 freshmen and a sophomore. We are playing Jrs and Srs for the most part.

Did I mention they beat us the last two times we played? We are a long way from the Miracle in South Bend folks. Notre Dame is rebuilding, we are in a recession. I don't see a whole lot to laugh at.

yes it's funny and very true, but as far as head-to-head we're not much better

Yeah, we along with FSU, Miami and Michigan fans have no room to really say all that much. All are major programs on the slide.

yah, well i hate notre dame, because they ARE always over rated. They have been to the BCS games, but have they really deserved it? One of the BCS bowl games are written if Notre Dame has a certain record they are automaticaly tied in for that game, that is crap, i hate notre dame, i will always hate notre dame. well for me its funny because notre dame is always expected to be the best, and well its a long way to fall. and as far as being a program on the rise, where in the world did that come from? On the rise means they should be better then they were last year. without brady quinn, they are nothing, so

Uh nice try. I said they replaced 9 seniors with 8 freshmen and 1 sophomore, it is clearly a rebuilding year. Have you looked at recruiting under Weis? With the exception of the season he couldn't recruit b/c of the pats playoff run he has done exceptionally well. And he went to BCS bowls with talent that largely went undrafted. Out of his two best offensive players, one is playing baseball, and the other slid from a top 3 pick to 22nd. Special rules or not you think Fulmer will ever be in a BCS game without a lot of first round talent? History says you'd be wrong. They also came within one cheatin a$$ play of beating the best team over the last 5 years, USC. You think Fulmer could coach us to within a TD of USC? I doubt it. I HATE NOTRE DAME, but we have no place to talk.

As for your without Quinn they are nothing comment: What are we without Ainge? The same dang thing. Except they will be getting better under their current coach, while we will be getting worse.

I am also sick of hearing that ND has special rules to get them into the BCS. You know what college football isn't fair. If it was fair there would be a playoff. If you don't like it try the NFL, they are pretty good at giving everyone an equal shot. Every other program would take the rules and TV deals ND gets if only they could, it's not their problem that they are so much more successful than everyone else. Now if you have a problem with it they are more than happy to settle it on the field with the best programs in college football.

they replaced some those seniors, well either way they would have put more then a very few touchdowns up during the first three games. one of the most succesful programs? please, im not saying TN is, but i mean they went to the BCS thats about it. theyve been stomped. And them being with out quinn cant be compared to us without ainge, because well ainge is still playin, next year when Ainge is gone, and crompton or coleman hasnt done well then come back and tell me we are in the same boat. yah during the pats playoff run his last year weiss had just gotten back from his MI-6 training and went to see Q to get the new spying technology

Hey I'll come back next year and talk about Crompton, if you come back in 5 and talk about which program has done better. ND is a better program than we are at this point, and making fun of them is like making fun of Bill Gates for being a rich nerd. Microsoft will still have an unfair monopoly on the computer market, and it doesn't do anything to make you better. Like I said, anybody that has a problem with the way ND handles their program can settle it with them on the field. They will play anybody. The last couple of times we played them, they proved that we have no place to talk.

I agree with you 100%. They will continue to stink this year but in the next couple of years they are going to be good. As for us we will be in the middle of the SEC this year and for the next couple of years. I would rather be in their shoes than ours.

This year ND wasn't ranked so I can't see anyone calling them overrated, as for us where did we start in the polls and where are we now?

well 5 years down the road, whos to say TN isnt back in the top, or that charlie weiss is still even at Notre Dame, and if notre dame handles their program so well, my question for you is why do YOU call it a "rising progam"? if it was done so well then they should be up their and stay up their past say week 1. ANd college football does have a playoff system, and it works quite well, its just because of teams like ND that its not in the I-A level.

Was he talking about last year?

I'm not responding to anyone specifically.

ND has more to be proud of recently than we, do this season included. They have a frosh qb and lost like 90% of their starters and everyone knew they would be down this season. We have a sr qb and aren't as "young" as the coaches say we are.

I think ND was ranked albeit not that high before their first game. I am not certain of this though. Pre season rankings are mostly meaningless anyhow. Michigan was ranked as well look where they are at now.
I dont like ND and it would give me great pleasure to see them go 0-12 (I know that wont happen but...)
I dont like alot of the BCS rules anymore than anyone else but like Phil Fulmer we are stuck with them for awhile.
