“We’re still searching, offensively, for consistency that I know darn well is out there,” Fulmer said. “We ran the football pretty well, we controlled the clock pretty well and did some good things. But we still have a ways to go and I refuse to relent until we get there.”

Let me see if I can correct this just a bit:

“We’re still searching, offensively, for consistency that I know darn well is out there,” Fulmer said. “We ran the football pretty well, we controlled the clock horribly in the second half but the defense saved us like always. But we still have a ways to go and I refuse to run a spread offense and air it out until we can run 300 yards a game...and then thank GOD we won't need to take and chances at all--because I'm a scared little girl.”

:bash:

"pounding the rock"...... I heard someone say recently that when Fulmer speaks of "pounding the rock" he is reminded of Andy Dufrane in Shawshank Redemption.

It only took Andy Dufrane 15 or so years to "pound the rock" to daylight with a jeweler's (rock) hammer. Maybe Tennessee should talk to Mr. Dufrane!!!!

I did not know that you had to use the run to establish the run??? :bad:
