So you do know if we go 6-0 then we might crack the top 25. I know i am dreaming but still............. to beat texas would be SWEET.

its possible, with the pearl, even this year with the low talent, we run the table until texas and ok state, and we can keep it close in those ballgames i think with pearl's coaching style

I don't think that ASU will be much of a problem but you never know.

I don't see us having any chance against Texas, unless we're shooting lights out (and UT tends to struggle with their shooting on the road), and Texas is ice-cold (less than 30% from the field.) Oklahoma State, on the other hand, isn't out of the question. And the road trip, the remaining pre-conference schedule isn't very difficult at all. If we get to SEC play at 8-2 (I'm going to assume we lose to Memphis later on the road, so technically 8-3), 7-9 in the conference will get UT into the NIT - something Buzz couldn't even do last year with vastly superior talent. Also, keep in mind that Buzz was 0-2 in his two NIT appearances. This team, I think, could possibly make some noise there.

No way in hell does road-crew UT beat Burnt Orange UT unless it's in women's basketball.

Doesn't the TN men's team always start like 11-1 with an embarassing non-conference schedule anyway?

(Just a little pre-game smack).

Sort of like texas does, when all said & done at the end of the year we will have as many NC this year in men's basketball as texas will, same thing with texas every year they CHOKE in tourney play... you would think Mac brown was coaching them!

Coach Summit can kick the Longhorns asses but I'm not so sure about Coach Pearls chances, team is on a learning curve. Would be nice though.

not gonna happen we'll beat Appy State then lose to Texas and OSU, we dont have enough depth to stay with a team of that calibur, we will get drilled a bunch in this conference schedule, we dont have the depth to stay with teams with a deep bench, we wont be able to wear down SEC teams like we can these small teams that play 6-7 players.

I'm sure that Texass will kick our butts up and down the court but to say we have no chance is silly. Although it probably won't, anything can happen on any given day. I could win the lottery tomorrow. :dunno:

In my will? I win the lottery and I'm giving some of it to everyone who posts on the boards. You don't have to wait until I kick the bucket.

well back on topic, to say that we have no chance of winning is far fetched. I mean there are always upsets in basketball. Valporasio, valporasio.........
