Attached is a spreadsheet packed with data that other "numbers guys" like myself may find of interest. The emphasis is on Tennessee, but the report provides a summary of final AP rankings for all SEC teams since the Associated Press poll began in 1936 along with National and SEC champions for each year. It's interesting to see the peaks and valleys over the years for each conference team. I've gone through the data with a fine-toothed comb in order to be as complete and accurate as possible, but if you spot an error please let me know. The original PDF document looks cleaner than this, but PDF files are not allowed here. A bit of clarity is lost when converting to JPEG. Enjoy.

Good data! To me on first sheet, OK jumps off page, in a good way, though not in SEC for full period, and TaM, for all the press they get, are oddly big under achievers.

I wish we could come up with another term for the national champion before the BCS era. “#1 AP” or something along those lines.

The Associated Press steals too much credit while there were other polls with arguably better metrics.
