What Wylo doesn't understand that some of us "older Zoners" do, is while that girl is pretty and has some tig bitty's, she clearly has no clue as to how to make a sammich.

I don't have any cilantro at the moment, but I'm going to Publix later and heading straight to produce and smell some cilantro. I hope I haven't been affected by Lima Beans comments. :)

Well boo, you! :cray:

This is not the equivalent of a three-year-old refusing broccoli. It's a gene thang: A genetic variant near olfactory receptor genes influences cilantro preference | Flavour | Full Text

I'd love to like cilantro. It just tastes different to those of us with the damn gene.

Happy cilantro snorting!

So, you must be from a Southern European decent with the rs7227945 chromosome, although that doesn't explain why it smells like a stink bug rather than soapy. Sounds like your or6a2 olfactory receptor, which is suspected for contributing to the detection of a soapy smell, is damaged or you don't have one.

It's the aldehydes. Apparently we can smell aldehydes, which are also in stink bug juice. Like drug dogs at the airport. (not the drug dogs smelling like aldehydes; I meant the ability to smell weird stuff)

Maybe Homeland Security will be hiring...

"We" who?

lol, that's it!

Only kid in the world who ever liked lima beans...

I liked them as a kid too, but when I got older 6-7 and my parents and both sets of grandparents had me help shell them suckers for hours on a Saturday, I stopped liking them. After I became an immature adult, I resumed my fondness of them.

Others with chromosome XRT793F5, or whatever it is. All the posters on I Hate Cilantro-dot-com. :)

Over time I learned to like a lot of things I didn't use (used?) to like. This one's beyond help.

Glad you've returned to the lima bean fold. :wink2:

I asked because I wondered if you guys had a name. If not, you will by tomorrow.:)

Wish I could see better, I'm on my phone. I can see well enough to notice everything looks good.

Arugula is my favorite leaf for salad and sandwiches. I'm sure it paired well with the vinegaret. She likes using tomatoes and I can appreciate that. A little garlic and mozzarella and you could have called it a deconstructed Mediterranean caprese salad.

Nice choice of plate. I look forward to seeing it tomorrow on my monitor.

we were busy yesterday morning. we made raspberry quinoa oatmeal bars, pesto and hummus. all before the salmon for lunch.

I may have already asked you, if I did, forgive me for forgetting and asking again. I hope I word this right...

What's your motivation for spending this much time and energy on all of this? I'm not trying to get personal at all, I'm just genuinely interested. Like, is it trying to eat healthy, just basic interest in cooking, a mutual hobby for spending time together, an interest by you, her or both in a career in the culinary arts or none of the above.

If your answer is "none of your business, Behr" I'm completely fine with that.

my wife has always been in love with food, and I think I shared in here somewhere, that she had a food blog. she doesn't do that anymore though. as far as the healthy cooking as of late, it is a result of a type II diabetes diagnosis for me back in August. plus, we do like each other, and like to spend time doing it together. :)

I don't remember about her blog, but it's possible I missed it somehow and I'm disappointed if I did. Speaking of a food blog, if you guys haven't seen it, I'm asking you to do me a favor and watch my favorite "culinary" movie Julie and Julia. You won't be disappointed.

Sorry to hear about the diabetes, I'm actually going through that this very moment.

Couldn't tell you like each other. Haha. That's cool!

guess it wasn't in here that I posted it. it was a different thread.

archives are still there. she was recruited for a more professional blog group, but that has since been taken offline. she grew tired of having deadlines and it stopped being fun for her.
