As Long As Pruitt Keeps Winning the Press Conferences . . . .

Not russian nor a troll. Frim tennessee and grew up as a fan. Was on the sideline at LSU when johnny and fulmer were transitioning. How is it that boise and UCF and others out there can acheive with players from not SEC quality and UT suffers its losses with SEC players ? Ive seen it year end year out. If mullen can win with his pruitt should with this teams.

Some people are wanting alabama as a switch game. I say unless you beat the best then your not the best. If the top is where you want to go then go! But running from them with them off the schedule will due. Whos fooling themselves?

While some of the things you say are true, at the end of day this team has improved. That is what matters. Hell even if we end up 4-8 (we won’t) this year, the team is still better than last year despite the record being the same.

The penalties are the main issue. Substitution and formation ones fall on the coach. But the unsportsmanlike and false starts and such, hey the players know better, I assure you.

Being a risk taker is a double edge sword. If it works, you’re a genius. If it doesn’t, you’re dumb. The only onside kick I have a problem with is the Bama one. That was a poor choice and desperation. But then again what did you have to lose I suppose? The Auburn and Florida ones were great calls and the players should of easily recovered them.

All in all, while these coaches are learning on the job, I see the one critical thing they’re doing right. Player development. There’s no denying it. And as far as recruiting go, we will likely land a top 10 class. Probably right at 10 or 9. And that still might only be 5th In the SEC. That’s just life in this conference.
UTK - I think you have a very good point on this staff and player development. Pruitt and staff have made progress with these kids being developed. It is hard to stomach Pruitt's in game decision making skills right now. He needs a seasoned assistant to help him along. Put aside his pride.

Looking at the past 20 years. Past performance equals future expectations. I have yet to see tennessee beat anyone of value in such a long time that i really have no faith in SEC competition. 12 years in a row to Alabama. Beating Florida 5 times in 30 yrs. Bad coaching recruiting and decisions have made this program look foolish! Pruitt may be a great coach, but even a decent coach can take sub par players and transfom them into competitors. I have to hear we are rebuilding over and over again and we are young. Not this many years in a row. It may get worse next year when tennessee has to lose to florida Alabama and georgia again.
You re building a story where UT has been terrible for years. Made poor hires, recruited poorly, developed poorly. Then last guy (who hasnt been gone a full calendar year yet) not only did all that again, but did it to a level the program has never seen before.

You cant claim all that, and then b!+ch and moan 8 games into a tenure (not years) and not come of disengenous. Either you dont think the program was as bad as you described (which is what you have right) or you really dont understand the dynamics of fixing it.

And none of that is lending to the idea that Pruitt will without doubt or fail, fix it.

He has had a couple questionable decisions to me but unless you have an extremely weak stomach your description is overblown.

Beecher - In the SC game I got the same feeling I got with Dooley in the LSU game after the goal line debacle

Now that you mention it, I felt sick to my stomach after the SC game. Not sure if it was our 2nd half performance or something I ate, or both.

Go on record then.

No better than 7 Ls a season. Highest win total is 6.

If not your feeling has no foundation.

But... but.... I’m not done being mad yet.. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

I would hate to see some in a street fight; me most of all, lol, and then, there are some posters that like to reply in a thread just to stir the pot. We’ve seen them, haven’t we? The ones that basically try to stir up the different opinions to get a rise out the group that disagrees with them. Me, myself and I believe we are on the same side. Not harm, no foul.

I dont think its so much winning the press conference. Ive been critical of the coaching, especially on offense, but they have shown the ability to try different things and do things different ways and its resulted in improvements. He is a rookie coach, so some things he will have to learn along the way, in terms of the most effective way to do some things. It sucks that we have a coach learning on the job for the first time, but its what we got. Defense has been better than expected all year, for the most part and they are showing they can change things on o. Its not where we want it yet and resulting in wins but its something. To me, at least we are back to the point of being upset when we lose, because we expected to win (south carolina game).
