I am far from perfect and lord knows I have made my share of mistakes. I know I am a LOT SMARTER today than I was at 19. I am glad there wasn't social media when I was young. It appears he as learned from his mistakes and is on the right path. If so good for you young man. GO VOLS!!!!

Photo Op. All part of the Public Relations campaign to rehab his public image
Did you even read the twitter account from someone who is not employed by the university? Banks was the ONLY one who stopped after a couple hours. How is that a planned photo op? Who cares if he is working hard to get back on the team if it means he is doing great things to make this world a little better! I say good for him.

A good photo op would have been beside the road where this took place. Original

I had a blowout on I-40 west of Nashville about a mile pass the Cuba Landing exit near the Tennessee River. Front left tire blew out. Pulled to the right side of I-40 as far as I could get to the railing. There's hardly any room at all to just get out of the car. It seemed like we were just mere inches from the speeding traffic whizzing by at 70+ miles an hr. just to be changing a flat tire. I said that to say this >>> There's no room sometimes on a busy interstate's shoulder to be taking photos & smiling with one another. So an "original" place for a photo to be taken is very dangerous at times >>>>so use your head & think about doing things smart that might not get you killed. Drive to some place that's safe & way out of harm's way for doing photos.....good grief.

Let the haters hate. I'm pulling for the kid. Hope he comes back strong and makes the winning play against the Gators!

Man, that would be great wouldn't it? He's a good kid. It's not like you just get one chance in life.

BTW, that blowout I had happened pretty close to the day you joined VN. Cheers.

I find him to be incredibly lucky on this day. First, the people in the broken down car had no cell phone I assume. Second, he had water with him. Third, I assume, which is dangerous, he lives in Knoxville since school is closed. I imagine he is no longer on scholarship and paying his own way. Fourth, he can fix broken down cars. Fifth, I assume that's his Mustang by the vacuum cleaners and not the broken down car where maybe the car was broken down for two hours and no one stopped. We need Jeremy back on the team.

Why would you assume they didn't have a cell phone? Why would you assume he successfully fixed the car rather than just tried to help fix the car? Why would he be incredibly lucky to have a mustang?

Id say being incredibly lucky is owning a Camaro not a mustang but your point is made lol

For this to be a Tennessee forum, there sure are a lot of folks that want to make snide remarks about a young man that did something stupid, has acknowledged it, and is apparently working pretty hard to put his life back in order.

I’m sure that some of it is done for the purpose of public consumption simply because he’s messed up publicly and has likely been advised to be public with his efforts.

Regardless, I wish him well. And it wouldn’t bother me at all for him to return to the team as long as he stays on a good path. I’m very thankful that everything that I ever said or did both as a youth, and now as an adult, hasn’t been recorded and replayed for the whole world to see.

I assume they didn't have a phone because no one had stopped in a couple of hours. I would think if they had a phone they would have called a tow truck. After rereading the Twitter I was probably wrong to assume he fixed the car, it does not say that. Maybe the car is still sitting broken down by the vacuum cleaners. I said that about the Mustang because I worked the whole time I was on the hill, and had to drive an old beater. I don't know that it is his Mustang, but I do know while he was on scholarship he could not have a job. But he does get a stipend.

I wish Jeremy Banks well and pray he’s on a good path in life...because that’s what compassionate people do. Getting a 2nd chance with UT Football is probably the one thing that can help him most. He didn’t commit a violent crime - just ran his mouth a little. I think most of us are guilty of that at some point in our life.

This might've gone over better if the fan wasn't trying so hard... #SportsCenter #SC10... etc

C'mon man. Just give the dude his props, wish him luck, tag him and move on. Don't put him on a stage and then demand some type of action be made by the UTAD/Pruitt/National media...

Such a miserable perspective on things. I'm sure you're just a magical little angel.

The guy was like 19 here and he's done everything he can to make up for his mistake.

Hes done one bad thing that we know of and has a string of instances where he has only shown good character. The only evidence that exists since then shows that he's a pretty good guy! He is really freaking young! People get better! C'mon.
