article slamming kiffin from our neighbor down south

Yeah, because the media is always touting how well officials do their jobs.

The writer points out other games where AL was highly penalized. That misses the point entirely. Also, I didn't see Kiffin's comment regarding "Alabama and Florida live on" as an affirmation that there was a conspiracy. Rather that teams have had their shots against the two top ranked teams in the nation and, because of poor officiating, they lost.

They should’ve brought a pad*dle. Just past the midpoint of his first season in the league, the Tennessee coach owns twice as many SEC reprimands as SEC victories

Ouch :birgits_giggle:

Yeah, the writer is definitely taking liberty with CLK's meaning on that one. It's possible he was backing the conspiracy but not certain, which is why Slive didn't say anything about it and just stuck with the "don't criticize the officials publicly" talking point. Slive was well within his rights for reprimanding Kiffin but if he had suspended him based on that comment implying a conspiracy he'd have had a fight on his hands. Which is the last thing he needs with the officiating problems they're having.

what is being overlooked by so many is that Kiffin has once again taken the focus off of Bammers win, off of Cody, and our lacking special teams (namely Lincoln). Speak your mind coach, no matter what. We are 3-4 right now, but Kiffin is getting the heat. All this team has to do is play football.

Personally, I'd like to see Kiffin take one for the team here and push the envelope. Slive would bring more attention to the poor officiating and all of the other "quiet" matters that exist in other SEC coaching regimes. Threatening to suspend a coach for saying something vs. no public reprimand for affairs, coaches getting arrested, too many players getting arrested/failing drug screens. Slive would open a can of worms he couldn't close at that point.

It cracks me up that they are so worried about almost losing to us. They forget to mention in that article that Dan Mullen also criticized the refs this weekend and also got reprimanded. The fact is.....the new coaches aren't going to fly with the sorry officiating in the SEC.....They are actually going to stand up for there team and players when refs make bad calls. I was at the game surrounded by Bama fans and even some of them were saying that some of the penalties were BS!

The more everyone is talking and bashing Kiffin, the better it is for Rocky Top. I say let it keep coming. If he wasn't a threat then there wouldn't be nearly the fuss that there is. Go Vols!

I wonder if he's upset because his team didn't cover the spread?...or ever get close to it?...or even score a TD?

Ladies and Gentlemen you have to love it. Days after the loss the Gators and Bama all the talk is about CLK and the VOLS. Every newspaper and sports talk show has some mention in it one way or the other. LOL As I posted in another thread yesterday CLK and the VOLS have created an itch so deep that the media and other teams fans and coaches can not scratch. You may not agree with what he does but the players do and that is all that counts!!!! Ya gotta love it. GBO

Slive, the media and and everyone else that bashes Kiffin is so stupid! To stupid to realise that Kiffin knows exactly what he's doing. CLK is an F'n genius! Everything he has said and done is premeditated. I agree 100% to one of the above comments, he has the SEC scared to death! Keep it up coach, I love it!! GO VOLS!!!

I just sent this email to the guy that wrote this junk:

"It looks like you finally figured out what everyone else in the Country already knew…..putting ‘Kiffin’ in your headline gets more hits. Congrats, maybe you’ll get promoted and be able to move out of the armpit of the south."

Guess he wanted to get his digs in before Slimebum beat him to it. Instead of writing about the great Saybear and what a WONDERFUL game they played against an unranked team, they choose to write about Kiffin. The BIGGER story is how the #1 team in the country couldn't score a touchdown and looked pretty pathetic...but of course they were tired (whine, whine). Saybear looked like all the blood was drained out his face...if he had lost that game, he would have found out how 'loved' he was by the bammers. Slimebum wrote an article when Kiffin was first hired about how TN should dismiss him and that he wasn't fit to be the coach...now, we know why he was so worried!!!

It's a Bama blog and from the pre-season template. I guess he hasn't heard the rest of the country is starting to come around on Kiffin's progress in Knoxville. Herbstreit on Atlanta radio said the big message from college football on Saturday was regardless of your opinion of Kiffin the Vols are coming and soon. Cowherd said we are going to be an absolute beast.

+100 Exactly! :good!:

Kiffin is taking the spotlight away from our special team players, instead of blaming them, & putting it on himself. Takes the heat off the players. I love what he's doing!

Slive knows that Kiffin is going to be his worst nightmare over the next couple of years. Here is a young coach that doesn't care what the powers that be in the SEC think and is not interested in kissing their collective arses. All he seems to care about is what he is getting paid to do and that is turn a football program that had hit rock bottom into a winning program again. Slive also knows that if he can't rein in CLK now, he'll never be able to do it when UT is contending for the SEC in a couple of years.

Message to SEC commissioner Mike Slive.....Yeah good luck with that....:peace2:

Kiffin is a smart man....I lean towards the scenario that if the Vols ran one additional play to get a bit closer for the field goal attempt, they would have been flagged for holding.

Yeah....the Grassy Knoll theory of football....Slive hiding in the press box ready to give the nod to toss the hankie.
