Just another incident of reptile dysfunction from Mike Bianchi of FL. Consider the source (the sewer down in swampland).

This guy is classic. O-Lie-O State. BCS (Blatant Cheater's Syndicate). The NCAA has replaced the electric chair with the easy chair. Tressel would be out quicker than a Woody Hayes right hook.

He's trying WAY too hard.

The same with Tennessee's basketball program, which allowed Bruce Pearl to coach all season despite the fact he broke rules and lied to the NCAA about it. Pearl was only fired after he lost by 30 points in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. If the Vols were playing in the Final Four this weekend, he'd still be coaching and Tennessee would likely be preparing a contract extension for him to sign.

this is his reasoning? Shouldn't a guy who tags himself as "SPORTS COMMENTARY" actually follow sports?

I would think that most UT haters would be satisfied with their pound of flesh after the Pearl dismissal. Apparently not. The idea that an athletics department should get the death penalty when players aren't systematically being paid or having their grades fixed is nonsense. I know that Hamilton probably caused the 30-point loss against Michigan with his ill-timed comments, but at least no journalist--no legitimate journalist-- can say that is the reason Pearl got fired. This guy is a liar and a spinner.

Yes lying and taking $$$ is against NCAA rules but I'll never understand how that is considered worse then schools like Floriduh getting praised for having lying piece of shiz coaches like Meyer who recruits cons and has over 30 arrest during his tenure!

What this moron fails to understand is Pearl was fired before the 30 point beat down.

A bit defensive, 99? Today being 4/1/11 has nothing to do with it. These guys write trash about other schools, not just UT, all the time. Never, ever, do they bring up the issues plaguing the schools in their own state. WAY biased journalism, IMO.

Stuff like this is going on everywhere, the system's broken, slapping a couple of heavy weights around isn't going to make a difference! Most of these kids don't see the value in free education/housing, meals, clothing, shoes, "electronic allowances", health care, personal trainers, and an opportunity to better themselves....all they are focused on is "the university is making a ton of money off of me and where's mine." I see both sides of the argument but don't see a definitive solution??? As much as some would like to believe differently, the amateurism is gone from high profile college sports.

the thing about April fools jokes is that they're not really funny if you already do it every day

Just typical Bianchi hyperbole. In the future, do yourself a favor and stop at his byline.

Bianchi is garbage. Death penalty, seriously? I'm not defending what Pearl did by any means, but it's considerably less than what Tressel did, and not even on the radar of SMU.

This is coming from the same moron who addressed UF's 1,000,000 arrests under Urban Meyer as "a chance to reach out and help the kids, not punish them".

He seriously makes Finebaum look like softball.
