Article RE: Cal offense

The only thing that worries me is Lynch motioning out of the backfield. I do not believe that we have a LB that can adequately cover him if/when he lines up in the slot.

LB is definitely going to be our "?" on defense. Hopefully, we can get enough pressure on their O-line that they will be forced to use their fullbacks to block the pass rush.

The Cal media folks this week started a Heisman campaign for Lynch.
I'd say they're probably figuring a good showing against us on national TV would work wonders for Heisman hopes.
I'm sure Chavis has been studying the Lynch factor all summer....

it will still be hard from a game planning standpoint to recognize all the sets and formations they may use with this hybrid offense....what he did last year may only be a part of his total package of plays this season...

either way you slice it, i think the D is going to get tested early and often in this game.

Glad we're catching Cal in the first game. They will be trying to work kinks out of a revamped offense against a tough D-line.

Let's hope they make enough mistakes that we have a shot to win in the end!

Lynch will be a huge test for our young linebackers. I think Chavis will have them ready though. Lots of potential in this bunch.

The scariest part? Lynch's backup, Forsett, is as good as he is as a runner. Lynch is the pass catcher of the two, but Forsett is just as dangerous, or damn close to it.
