Article on Fulmer and SEC Media Days

Im personally find the "poll" choices insulting.

What should Fulmer be most concerned about at the SEC Media Days?

A crazed Alabama fan

A lack of security

What is served for dinner

When are people gonna get over the WEIGHT thing and quit making snide remarks about our coach?

Never, but when (not if) he gets back to winning championships, all they can do is eat crow.

I bet if he lost 100 pounds the media would call him skinny and say he was on drugs.

No the word is already out on that one. Fulmer underwent a training program with Johnny Long (UT strength and conditioning coach) for his health. He has lost some weight over the off-season, but his critics say he lost weight obecause of the Bama scandal.

I am so torn LO-

On one hand I want to think your opinion of Fulmer means that, unlike men, women-of-quality can see beyond the surface and there's hope for me yet.

On the other hand, since what's below Fulmer's bloated surface is a guy who stabbed Majors in the back to get ahead, drove off the one woman willing to have his children and stick by him, and can't seem to field a team with psychological consistency unless there's a player on the field with the unusual leadership talent he lacks, I've got to wonder if your opinion of Fulmer just proves that my problem isn't a shortage of women like you in the world, but rather that even women like you are crazy, too.

Perhaps I should rediscover my youth, and invest in decorative underwear and certain female-friendly pharmaceuticals.

If you like fat men.

I don't think CPF's weight is nearly as bad as the media would like us to think. It's not like CPF strolls the sidelines with a cheeseburger in one hand and a shake in the other for heaven's sake! But being one who has always struggled with a weight issue myself, I guess I am biased. If I were Coach Fulmer and my wife was happy with me, the rest of the world could

:biteme: .

Over the last 9 months, Phil's biggest battle has been hanging onto the Mrs. The reasons why don't vary that much, but they do vary, in typical gossip-mill style. Her being fed up and making it clear- in public and private (to friends) has been consistent, though.

Things have been quiet for about 2 months, so perhaps he's straightened up/ they've made up. Or perhaps, like Hillary, she didn't want to damage what he does right by making a circus of what he did her wrong.

Regardless, for someone who already has nits to pick with him, the idea that Fulmer wasn't making his Mrs. feel like the princess of the known world just gave me an extra (guy who doesn't have a great wife and lovely daughters) reason to be miffed at him.

I mean, not to be crude, but, even if he's a major stud in the bedroom, if you've ever seen them standing side-by-side, that little-bitty woman deserves combat pay.

That "little lady" is married to a multi-millionaire. I'm sure her tour of duty hasn 't been THAT hard to endure.

Dude, are you for real?

A. Yep.

Lots of family ties with the athletic department for the last 45 years, and, like I said, for a while there recently Mrs. Dew-lap wasn't exactly being quiet about "having it up to here"... so to speak......

B. Is that an existential question?

Fulmer stabbed no one and if you have the ties you say you would know that! Pure and simple he was going to be a head coach, the boosters and powers at the time didn't want him to leave and they were sick and tired of putting up with Johnny "the little bear" Majors with is attitude and his losing top notch in-state talent because of arrogance. I glad Majors came home to resurrect UT's program, but his time was almost gone, UT barely stayed out of the mess that Bama is in now, he put UT on Minor probation twice in his tenure (one almost cost UT big), he couldn't beat Bama even with superior talent.

He was usually too drunk to beat anybody. I still shudder when I watch old Majors interviews on television. Talk about embarrassing!
