Just watched Boyd complete 7 of 9 passes for 188 yds. Someone please explain to me how this guy would not fit in a pro-style drop back passing system?

I know Kiffin would know what he is looking for, but Boyd made the other QB's look like pee wee all stars in this game.

How about his background? Is he a Fulmer gangster in waiting? Wonder if this is the reason Kiff steered clear - wanting discipline where there has not been any?

I was much more impressed with Boyd's receivers. He had a shaky start. AJ McCarron (sp) looked awful btw.

Enough with the Fulmer bashing. What if anything does Fulmer have to do with this?

Did Fulmer turn you down in the bathroom at some point? Damn man give it a rest.

He had forever and a day to throw the ball on the plays I seen. Coach LK has a plan we will just have to wait and see what it is.

I have to agree. Boyd looked great, although I didn't see him take a single snap from under center. I never got this from the get-go and I'm even more confused now. What is it about Boyd that wouldn't fit a pro style offense? He has the arm, he has the accuracy. I just don't understand Kiffin's reluctance to sign him. If he were more of a running quarterback and not a developed passer, I would get it. He's a very developed passer at this point in his career.

Its not bashing - it is FACT - big difference. Phil brought in all the undesirable riff raf to terrorize the citizens of Knoxville that he could. I just wonder if his background came into play here with a decent coach or it had been ignored by 'The Warden'. Anyone know of his past? We are all wondering why Kiff didn't want him.

I am sure there is a good reason. Just because he did great in a high school football doesnt necessarily translate into a great college player. From everything I hear Crompton was incredible in High school.

stop with this. Boyd is a good guy that Kiffin is not interested in, I think because of his size and play in high school, something about him Kiffin doesn't like there is nothing wrong with his background.

A Foolmerite will never accept what their idol did to the University of Tennessee. Anyone that notices police reports or the end result of how our program was destroyed is a Bammer, Bulldog, Gamecock or Gator.

I'm glad there is nothing wrong with his background. Good for him - he is to be commended.

Boyd puts a lot of loft on his balls. He is not going to be able to do that in the SEC.
DB's and Safeties will eat that alive.

However does Bryce Brown remind anyone of Buckwheat

not trying to be an a$$ here. I defend kids like this almost on a daily basis so I do sound testy. If there was something to be said about his background you would probably know it on this board by now.

What is known is Kiffin called him and told him he would honor the scholly but would not have much of a chance to ever play. so he decommitted, can't blame him for that he is a competitor.

He really seems like a good kid. I ran into him before the bama game. We didn't speak but I saw him interacting with some fans and he was polite and seemed to be good natured. I think lane was trying to make a point to some guys still out there about the type of offense he was going to run.
