Sadly, for both male and female students as well as society, 10 years from now there still might be insufficient evidence to determine if Renfro is a predator or a victim--or anything in between.

To maybe bring some good from this posting of a sad, life-changing story for all the individuals involved...

Malcolm Gladwell in his 2019 book "Talking to Strangers" brings some very revealing research to sexual assault and alcohol abuse on college campuses today. Things are no longer how most of us over age 40 remember it:

That said, I don’t like this at all. Anonymous social media account accusing him? He has not been charged with anything, yet is removed from the team. Don’t like any of that. I still remember Nilo Silvan being run off.

I agree, it's basically mob justice. Still awful lot of smoke there not to be some fire, and those snap chats, if they are authentic are almost reason to kick him off the team in and of themselves as conduct unbecoming of the uniform. If it was a Tennessee player who was dumb enough to be sending stuff like that I don't think I'd want him on the team.

Yeah, they are pretty nasty. IF they are authentic, then essentially as his lawyer, the first thing you've got to do at trial is stand up and tell the jury "yeah, so my client's a kinky m-fer who has participated in these various rape and bondage fantasies with girls, but it's all consensual, he's not a rapist" and clearly that's not a strong position to be in.

I am a strong proponent of due process, but unless those are forged/faked or something, they are probably enough to kick him off the team in and of themselves, for being unconscionably stupid (certainly not someone you want running your offense), if not a sexual predator.

I don’t know how I feel about this. The accounts from the accusers are horrible and of even half are true then he is a true monster.

But I’m not seeing much in the way of “proof” beyond some inappropriate messages from him that aren’t actually any kind of confession or even a reaction to her own statements of abuse. It’s just disgusting dirty talk.

I think there absolutely needs to be a thorough investigation of the claims by the police. That is essential.

I don’t think anyone should be kicked off for just accusations and would prefer a suspension while an investigation goes on. But it doesn’t sound like he was going to be a big player which is probably why they cut him loose, that and of course the current environment of mob Justice in our country

I didn’t read any of this stuff (I don’t need any more defilement) but maybe the most appropriate word for most of the garbage we are seeing today…STUPID!! I agree with your use of the word! We are living among unbelievable stupidity in this day and time! I used to not use that word much but it’s simply the truth. Hate that my granddaughters will probably be exposed to some of this evil!

Exposure to unlimited internet access for young people and kids is screwing em up. Parents have no clue their kids have probably been watching porn since 9 years old. Kinda sad.

I agree that kids a lot more access now than when I was a kid. There was only so much scrambled Spice channel you could watch.Lots of people watch porn and have all the access they could ever want, not many people do what he’s being accused of doing. Even if some of this stuff is a fetish, you never engage in any sexual acts without someone’s consent. If even some of this is true, he’s a real scumbag,

It’s not a matter of guilt or innocence anymore, it’s about the seriousness of the crime. Sickening. Who knows? It could simply be a jilted woman.
On a side note: Watch it be some trans person lol!

I don’t know one way or the other but snap chats are so easy to fake. It’s happened in other cases that were proven to be false allegations.

The crazy thing to me about all of this is that his family and the Briles family are very close and both from the same town in Texas. It’s basically why he transferred from Ole Miss to Arkansas to begin with.

Even if a lot of this is fabricated it’s unbelievable that Kendal could even be remotely associated with something like this after what happened at Baylor.

Who knows if it’s true or not. How about being innocent until proven guilty. Where is the proof? I haven’t seen any. Just accusations. What I have seen plenty of is athletic careers destroyed because of false accusations and in the end, the girl suffers zero consequences for her false claim. And that must change to eliminate the false baseless claims.

I don’t understand the purpose of rape considering that modern girls/women are giving their bodies away like candy on Halloween. Infidelity among women is surpassing infidelity among men and fairly soon it won’t be close. I’d like the be in a position to believe a girl/woman that makes such a claim but these girls today………they’ve had more bodies by the time they’re 20 than most men will have in their entire lives.

Rival team player or not, count me out of the group that believes this claim until there is actual proof.

Out of curiosity, what does infidelity have to do with this discussion?

I'll also add that the "girls are sluts these days" talk track makes you sound like an incel.

I don’t understand the math here? Every time a girl gets a body a guy had to provide it (assuming you are referring to traditional sexual encounters)

Well, his name is "VolRage". In all seriousness, this thread is a great example of how politics screws everyone's perception up. There is not a man here who would want his daughter spoken to the way this kid seems to have been speaking to women, if he does, he ain't no man. However, because people perceive this as political, there are all sorts of takes ITT disassociated from that core reality. I don't know whether this guy raped these women or not, but IF the snapchats are authentic I wouldn't want him playing for us regardless cause the dude's a POS. Arkansas did kick him off the team, and so I'd imagine they confirmed the snapchats were real, that's really all they needed to do to take action. Leave the rest to the courts.
