Arion Carter apparently had a change of heart

You guys are acting like Arion is his unfortunate namesake known as "B00." Arion got his evaluation, looked around and knew he could not improve on his opportunity in Knoxville. No harm done so get the feet healed up and be ready to beat up on some SEC quarterbacks this fall. Knowles is not out to pattycake around - he is building a powerful defense.
The ding I see Carter taking is in his NIL because of his bad decision to jump before gauging NFL interest and his health.

If he fits in what Knowles wants, he's welcome back but on our NIL terms. Decisions have consequences. We don't need him that badly, IMO, but that's up to Knowles and Heupel.

I don't know what interest Carter is getting in the portal but let him twist out there and learn a lesson about looking before you leap. If someone else gets him, no huge loss.

I agree a fresh start for all is needed. But my BVS says it will be very difficult to stomach if he goes elsewhere and becomes the great player we thought we were getting. UT invested time and money in this guy with very little return. I know, that's the way "the market" works.
He helped get us to the playoffs. We got a great return in his sophomore season.

A bunch up in here talking 💩 on Carter…… but none know exactly what’s going on behind closed doors….. or what it’s like to try and play thru turf toe.
Some do know what it is tom-lay with turf toe. He will not recover more quickly somewhere else than he would have here. He wanted a lot more $$ which he could not get here. His decision and if doesn’t to be, he should play somewhere else.

I understand the emotion of every fan base with the portal. Imagine if you are Duke tonight. Built an entire team around him and he bolts at last second.

On the other hand, the players are no worse than the college coaches, at least in the pros, if a coach is under contract, you have to give up draft picks if you hire him away (before his contract ends) from another team if he is HC.

I know fans are demanding control over NIL, the same controls will have to be in place for coaches or it will continue to be the Wild West u til everyone gets fed up and it implodes

Here’s the serious question: do you legitimately think Carter is good enough that we’re going to miss him? He has the raw potential but he was completely lost at times last year. Tackling was absolutely terrible across the entire team. Idk about better but I would be far more disappointed to lose Redmond at this point. If he can stay healthy he will be a damn good corner for us.
Guess so…

KOC in Knoxville has been the place where Tennessee has their surgeries performed for years. I was in one of their Doctors office a couple of years ago and his walls were covered with pictures of Tennessee athletes on which he had performed operations. They also have their Doctors at a number of high school football game during football season.

I want both and we have both. Carter has to have surgery and will miss Spring practice. However he can observe in workouts and Spring practice to learn the new system. I think we are going to have a really good season the Fall.
Same here I was bummed if he was gonna transfer, seems like a VFL and seems like he’d fit in our new defense. I think lots on here see a guy transferring and think “yeah we moved on, didn’t want him anyways, or we’re upgrading” just not true… sometimes it’s ok to be authentic and say, “hey this seems bad for us” and it’s ok

Face it. Once one leaves the fold for $$$, he ain't comin back. Period. That locker room has plenty of players that have let the $$$ thing go and are willing to give their all for the T. Minus the mercenaries, we've inherited from Penn St. Obviously his nfl evaluation wasn't very good. Don't you just love these agents that direct these children and their parents on which way to follow the $$$?
These agents are agents in name only.
