I've said a couple of times that I think people have been way too harsh on Foster.

Despite the blame heaped on Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer, who announced he was stepping down on Monday after 15 years as coach, players said it was their fault.

"It's not the game plan - it's us," senior tailback Arian Foster told The Commercial Appeal. "We're out there making mistakes time after time. We can't keep on doing it and expect different results."

THANK YOU ARIAN!!! Finally someone steps up and admits to something. I guess they chained him in the locker room yesterday during that circus so he couldnt explain the truth.

do you guys think the players' extreme loyalty to coach Fulmer will be attractive to the candidates who are considering the position? or do you think it gives the impression that they wouldnt want to play for another coach? or do you think it doesnt make a difference, either way?

I think the loyalty to Fulmer is a great thing. It shows that if the new coach can win them over, then these players will fight for that coach.

At the same time, with this bunch, I don't know if that's a good thing. We'll see how they respond over the next few weeks as we all say goodbye to Coach Fulmer.

Players are always loyal to and defensive of a coach. If they aren't, something is seriously wrong.

exactly, ask Tommy Bowden and Cullen Harper about that.....

Don't go praising him too much. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the players have screwed this up for Fulmer. I truly hope that Crompton knows that this really is his fault a little. He was soooo bad, and got sooo much hype from high school to now...of course that's going to be pinned on a coach.
Foster should also feel bad. Fulmer should have done something to teach him to NOT fumble every time he's in the red zone I guess...but at some point Arian, you've got to stop sucking on your own.
He even fumbled the ball as soon as he got in the end zone this past weekend.

I'll give credit to foster for his statement. While others are constantly reaming the guy for fumbling, he's still a consistent RB who is much better than most fans give him credit for. I honestly feel bad for the kid with all the sh@t fans have been giving him the past few years. How can a guy be at the cusp of TN's all time leading rusher without being a great back?

UT has a losing season and the head coach has resigned. It's too late for any to step up.
