Are We Sure Dooley Runs a Pro-Style Offense?

I have read on here that many say Dooley runs a pro-style offense. I found this highlight video on youtube, and it appears it is the spread.

YouTube - 2008 Louisiana Tech 22 - Mississippi State 14

How do you even define spread? You can't. The dumbest term ever invented by sports commentators that have no idea what they are talking about. Secondly he is not the offensive coordinator, and he is bringing in a different offensive coordinator then he had at LT, someone who might run a totally different system then what Scelfo ran at LT.

In my opinion it's very similar to the offense the Colts run. Like the shot gun when they pass but like to go under center to run the ball unlike the spread

We've seen the video.
I personally like that about a coach.
The guys at my high school got tons worse from the HC there.

Oh please! That is not a slap...if the guy didn't have his helmet on I'd agree but coaches grab face masks and smack players' helmets all the time!

Been posted 100000 times. I don't care if he did that. I had coaches grab my facemask hit my helmet and it's not a big deal just gets your attention

Makes it all that more exciting to have a coach who shows emotions. Good or bad.

Every time somebody reposts that video, somebody needs to post a vid of a fumble followed by a Fulmer clap.

I'm sure there's lots to choose from out there.

Well said about the use of "spread"

Most NFL teams run the spread. So what exactly does Pro Style mean anymore?

Isn't the spead just a 4 or 5 receiver set designed to "spread" out the defense? And then there is a spread option which is more like what Florida and Ole Miss run?

Spread in terms of Shotgun and 3 and 4 wide receiver packages most of the time. I'm definitely not trying to criticize him; I'm just curious as to what we'll run.

In spread em out offenses like Florida and Cinci run my understanding is the reads are easier and quicker to make. That could be beneficial for a young QB like Bray.

UrbanFavre, wouldn't you call what Florida ran quite often more of a spread option? Bray would get hurt running Florida's style of offense

Florida runs more of a spread option, and Bray would get killed running the ball.Have you seen that kid? He's tall and thin as a rail. These offenses now day are such a mixed bag of formations/schemes it just hard to nail them down. Some of these spread options often have plays that resemble the old wing-t offense, and sometimes the QB goes up under center and it looks like a variation of the run & shoot offense.I don't claim to nail the definition of spread down, because I don't think it can be in this day and time.

Like Bam15 said,it's a really over used word.
