Are we finally seeing the downside of Meyer's offense in the SEC?

Seems like alot of people wanted to say this offense was unstoppable.....we sure made it look that way

But now Tebow is beat half to death and suddenly this offense doesn't look so invincible...

Could it be that some of us were right....that this offense won't work in the SEC because no QB (not even Superman...I mean Chuck Norris...I mean Tebow) can stand up to the kind of hits that SEC DL's, LB's and DB's will land on a consistent basis

I sure hope so....even though the fatigue factor won't do us much good since we play them so early

What do you all think?

Personnaly I think we are seeing the difference between the MAC and the SEC....and in all seriousness, if Tebow can't withstand the beating then what QB can?

I think Meyer needs to reconsider how much he runs his QB if he expects any QB in his system to be effective for an entire season

I think the jury is still out. The injury to Tebow has made a big difference but the kid is still young, we all remember what ainge looked like his sophomore year.

Florida doesn't have a good RB. When they find the right guy look out. Tebow will run much less then.

Off the topic, but what do we know about La-Lafeyette (sp) stranger things have happend this year...Anyone know who their playmakers are?? What type of offense they run...what are their chances...

Even when he has been healthy for the other 2 losses, he hasn't ran well. Their offense now relies on him running the ball right up the middle. If that isn't successful, healthy or not, they haven't been successful. Getting a good running back isn't going to matter that much if Tebow is slowed down.

Tebow is a helluva athlete but you can't run someone as much as they do...And lets face it, the spread offense usually compiles of alot sweeps etc....Tebow has been running off tackle left/right etc...You can't expect someone to take that kinda of beating week end and week out and not get banged up...IMO if they run him like they have been running him...The back up qb (Newton)?? I think will be seeing significant minutes by holiday time...

Their QB pretty much does everything for them. 1-7 record pretty well sums them up though.

Has Meyer really been around long enough at one school to see how his system holds up longterm? He's been at Florida longer than anywhere.

That's six years, that seems pretty long to me. Not all of it at Div 1 though.

2 years in the MAC, 2 years in the Mtn West, and now into this 3rd season in the SEC....

Two things to think about: 1) he's never coached his own recruits, 2) he's never been in the same conference long enough for the deficiencies in his offensive style to be exposed.

Florida has a RB, he just can't play yet. His name is Emmanuel Moody, who transferred from USC. When he's eligible to play, watch out for that offense.

that's true. Harvin and Tebow are the running game today.

their current RB scenario is fine. Meyer just chooses not to use him much and their line appears better suited to all of the middle fakes with QBs and flanker types running off tackle. Moore 25 times a game would be a horse in the SEC.

and at the end of the day, i really don't care what they do against the rest of the SEC. he's still undefeated against us. so, i guess everyone else has figured it out, except us.

why don't i feel better now?

i was under the assumption that the spread offense was built for the QB to do most of the running. is that a wrong assumption?

I thought it was like other option type offenses, where the QB has someone to pitch to, either a WR in motion or a RB. I could be wrong, but I thought the base set was 1 RB and 4 WR.

He's no better than Kestahn Moore. Urban would rather be cute and have his RBs line up in the shotgun and take direct snaps than line up and run right at somebody with a TB.
