With Hardesty only gaining 60 yards and Brown 55 on the ground, JC passing for over 300 yards are we becoming a pass oriented team?

Lane Kiffin said on the after show that they had extra time off and they kept talking about stopping the run in the paper, so he threw a curve ball. I would say it worked.

Memphis lined up in a way that dared us to pass. We took them up on it.

We didn't throw it much at all last game. We will attack whatever the defenses weakness is. We gameplan week to week and don't have set tendencies.

Does it really matter? I don't care what our O does as long as it puts up points.

This was another glorified scrimmage people. Everyone fell off their rockers when we "only" beat Ohio by 11 -- giving up a whopping 23 points. The next week we annihilated Georgia who failed to make it past our 34 yard line.

We did what we needed to do and that was give Crompdaddy some more reps. The coaches know what they're doing folks. We are not pass-oriented or run-oriented. We are balance-oriented.

P.S. Where did all of the "put Stephens in" people go?

We ran the ball against Alabama and Florida when they had 8 & 9 in the box?

Memphis is not in the same stratosphere as Bama or Florida. We slowed the game down with them to make it a field possession game. We came in to this game trying to end the game by halftime. Seems to have worked pretty well to me.

Tonights performance gets me excited for the rest of '09, but makes we ill when I think of 2010:eek:

No vol fans know what adjustments look like...Fulmer and Chavis stuck with their gameplan whether we were winning or getting the crap kicked out of us. We finally have a coaching staff that will adjust to the opposition and that is one good reason for the turn around this year.

They are still around...I sat in section UU and there was a guy behind me telling everyone how much better NS looked tonight than JC. My wife and I turned around just laughed in his face. I then proceeded to ask him if he had ever watched a down of football before in his life before tonight. I mean, come on, what does JC have to do in some peoples' eyes to get approval?!?!?! I'm darn proud to have him as our QB. Shows some real character to stick things out and never quit. The proof is in the pudding...

By the way, Crompton was on point tonight. Some of you may so it was Memphis' weak defense, but almost all of his throws were PERFECT.
