Are the same fans still supporting CBJ...

No. I was done with Dooley. Losing to Ky cause your team didn't want to be there wasn't what happened last night. As bad as it was, I think the players wanted to win just not as bad as Vandy. Vols made enough mistakes to keep Vandy in the game and finally win it.

Dooley never won anything. Butch has won some. He ****ed up this yr. he deserves one mulligan.

I don't expect miracles next yr but he does need to be in contention for the East.

What kind of wild imagination does it take to envision Butch winning SEC championships? Wilder than mine, that's for sure.

Not I.

I learned a lesson with Dooley. It is never wrong to criticize in an objective, factual, and fair manner. I argued like I did with Fulmer that Dooley should get his shot before we hammered him with criticism.

I was wrong.

Jones works harder than DD ever did. But in the end, he does not appear to be a championship caliber coach either. He has fatal flaws and does not appear to be equipped to fix them.

I was hoping that his work ethic would get him threw the learning curve and we'd see later if he could step up to the next level......
All that died last night because you can't lose twice to Vandy and be our coach. It doesn't matter if he wins a title here the fans will never get over this loss.

Back to reality.....unless he quits he's likely our coach next year and if he can pull 10 wins out of his butt, he's probably here in 18 too.

This is why I'm keeping my emotions in check. I can't watch UT football hating Butch all the time. I have to side with hope and disappointment. It's how I'm wired.

Wait..there were people supporting Dooley after Kensucky??

Oh hell yes. There were people supporting him up until the Missouri fiasco. I remember vividly being at the game and posting in the game thread, and when we jumped out to the big lead many were gloating that Dooley was turning the season around. They magically disappeared when Missouri came back and won.

I'm with ButchNA. Unless our AD has a better plan, I support our current coach. Still appreciate where he brought us from.

This is the key. If you have a home run hire in your hip pocket, then you make the change. But, seeing what LSU and Texas just did, I doubt there are any home run hires to be had this season.

So, until I hear otherwise, I support our coach.

Nazi reference...classy. You're on my ignore list now. Too much hate in the world.

Good grief, now we have the PC police on VN.

Yes, we all know the horrendous atrocities committed by Nazi Germany. And they cannot be denounced enough.

But, I don't think he was promoting Nazism. He was just making a historical comparison.

Do we need a safe space?

Answered yes to the question posited. Got called a Nazi. Didn't like it and ignored him.

Lifelong voting Republican and gets referred to as a safe space advocate. Didn't like it and ignored you.

This crap's easy. :)

...the same ones still behind Coach Dooley after the 2011Kentucky loss?

I would say yes. They are afraid of change....for the better.

On the other hand. ..ppl should stop giving UT $ until they get serious about football coaches
