Are ESPN writers & NYT writers really looking at this site?

they're pathetic if they do
How exactly is looking at a message board being a good investigator?

This website is filled with a bunch of people with no connection to the team.

Its pretty weird that this is 21st century "investigating"?

We're being prosecuted for being a good football team.

To any ESPN or NYT reporters reading this, let me formally invite you to munch down on my :moon2:

They'll grasp at any straws for a lead or information. Watch this:

Report: NCAA investigating Tennessee Volunteers recruiting practices, use of 'hostesses' - ESPN

"hostesses... who have become notorious on internet message boards for their ability to lure top recruits."

And this:

"A significant part of the investigation is focused on the use of recruiting hostesses who have become folk heroes on Tennessee Internet message boards for their ability to help lure top recruits."

Is from the actual NYT piece. I don't know any other board they'd be talking about.

Why would ESPN go after an affiliate and stalk an affiliated website that posts Tennessee Volunteers news?

They aren't ...the NYT is the one that kick started this whole thing.

as for trolling this site for info, I could see some validity to it. Will 99.9% of the posters on here have no connection (let alone a clue) to whats going on some here do, put together this and TOS and you have generated a lead, they might have chased down others and this one had traction....who knows.

'just hope it turns out to be nothing and we can continue on with our lives.

Yes, they most certainly are. I have met several people that work for the Times and their job is to simply read different blog sites and pass information to the writers.

But that doesn't make any sense.

How is trolling an internet message board any sort of "investigating"?

Investigating would be talking to actual leads such as players and former players, not scrolling the posts of a message board where people are spread out all over the country.

This is such a pathetic attack at Kiffin its not even funny anymore. Why is their such a huge target on his back and why does everything he says come back to the university?

Is that true?

Obviously not. I would hardly call Lacey pearl and her ilk folk heroes based on their discussion on this site.

Even if you disagree with this, her cult status can in no way be legitimately said to be linked to her ability to lure top recruits by impermissible means.
A stretch at best, fabrication at worst; it would not be the first time for the NYT.
