Appleby confident he can win at Tennessee

Why shouldn't he be confident? We haven't shown anything in the last three games that shows we should dominate them. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. I hope we win, but I'll believe it when I see it.

If I was the starting QB of a team that has won 11 straight against an opponent I'd be pretty confident roo

You almost have to say that. He's not going to say "I just hope we can hang". I hope he comes in thinking Neyland is like going to Nebraska or Michigan State like he said the other day. I promise him he's in for a rude awakening.

Okay? Why wouldn't he be? I mean, the last thing you want is your QB acting hesitant and passive. I would hope Dobbs is confident we can win Saturday, even if I'm not.

With our recent history against backup QB's, why wouldn't he be? He's as likely to be a Heisman Candidate Monday, as he is to be losing.

Here is what Florida is going to ask Appleby to do after catching the snap:

- 65% of the time - Turn around and hand it to the RB
- 35% of the time - Toss it in the general direction of #81 (Callaway). If he's covered, look for #4 (Powell) or #30 (Goolsby).

I'll be surprised if Florida throws more than 20-25 passes. If they do, it's because they're playing from way behind or because UT's Secondary has totally collapsed.

That confidence might disappear when he gets hit on every series. I expect shoop to bitz like crazy.

Yeah well, what has any VOL said about Tenn's chances?

Last I heard, the closest was, from Martin tweeting after the Ohio game, something like "look where we've come from."

Oh well. We will look back and see which one was more accurate about their team's perspective.

Is Coach Jones correct, that this is just "the next game"?

So you're saying we should be dropping comments like Tabor has about a team we haven't beaten in 11 years? Do your talking on the field.

As far as CBJ goes, I guess we will find out Saturday. If your a player and can't get up for this game then there's a problem. That's just me talking though.

No. I was responding to someone who said (something like) "what else is he suppose to say" (and this was in reference to Appleby, NOT Tabor).

A qb saying he has confidence he can win (at Neyland / as a back-up / first time starter for FL) is not the same as "dropping comments like Tabor."

So, which of our players has said he's confident he can win against FL (maybe all of them / I don't know).

Just clarifying. If I was a coach I wouldn't want any of my players on social media or to the media saying anything. Be confident behind closed doors and let your play speak for itself. Again though, JMO
