Over the last few days I've paid close attention to how the media perceives and pitches Tennessee Football.

And I've just had to come to grips with the fact that I've been wrong. I thought Tennessee was a very top tier program but all indications are it is not.

I watched ESPN discuss coaching hires yesterday and Tennessee wasn't even mentioned. Oh sure they talked about Florida and several other schools. But not a word about Tennessee.

Gruden has played Tennessee like a worn out Appalachian fiddle and if I hear his name one more time I think I'll vomit. What an utter waste of time that pursuit has been.

And when we can't retain a coach like Lane Kiffin, nor get a coach better than Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, or Greg Schiano - and when a Dan Mullen bypasses us to go to Florida and a Chip Kelly wouldn't even entertain our program - apparently - we are what they thought we were.
