Your opinion is fair without any context. To me, when viewing the entire Nico picture of being the top ranked QB recruit, paid $2 million to red shirt and learn, then paid another $2 million+ for last season then it’s hard to view his production last year in a positive light. Pre- NIL then maybe last season Nico could have been viewed as “decent”. The massive checks changed everything. To whom much is given, much is expected. JMO, TIFWIW

That last throw was something we’ve been missing the last 2 years.
Not sure I remember Hendon even throwing anything like that. I'd say we haven't seen a pass like that since Bray or Ainge. Hendon didn't try to fit it in many tight windows. Aguilar does, but that also is why he has more picks.

See, I told you.

Nobody ever listens to me

I swear, it's like winning all the local road rallys in a Camery, and suddenly you are given a souped up NASCAR to race.

I just hope he doesnt have a bad wreck, lol.

We're gonna be fine
His disaster int's are scary. He's not elite enough to overcome bad o-line play.

Like against UGA, I could see him blowing it because he forces it too much, or it could get disastrous if our line can't block them.

Last year we did prove that we are closing the LOS gap against the pups, so that gives me hope.

Otherwise, he can make every throw that Heupel needs him to make. I have little doubt about that after watching all the games and highlights I've seen of his. If our WR's are studs them they'll be open and Joey will hit them

Offense go vroom again

I’m concerned about our QB run threat.

That’s a very low-key important aspect of this offense. This kid can sling it and isn’t gun shy, and plays aggressive, but can he rip off a 6 yard run on 3rd and 5 in the SEC? When nobody is open can he keep the drive alive?

Hopefully his passing can offset it, but I still feel like we lost something (not Tennessees fault).

Not sure we can do many designed runs with him, but in the film I've watched he isn't afraid to tuck it and go. He's decisive when doing it and doesn't slide much lol. I think he has about the same amount of speed as Spencer Rattler. Joey won't pull a Hendon vs Florida in 2022 where he breaks a sack and takes off 30 yards down the field, or even a few of Nico and Joe's long runs, so yeah we will be less dynamic overall, but I think him being more decisive than Nico and Joe will allow him to pick up some of those 3rd and medium to longs. I'm sure he'll get caught by some SEC edges and LB's where he wouldn't have in the sun belt though.

Seems a more instinctive runner than Nico…and definitely Joe imo.

If he makes the throws we have missed the last few years it won’t matter. I’m tired of seeing Wide open recdivers overthrown.

more suited to this offense than Meleaveava
I'm tellin yawl

I keep watching these clips and full games and I don't see this dude missing any throws

Then I just watched some TN highlights where we have the most wide open WR's in the history of football.....I've been hurt before, things could go wrong, but Aggy hits the covered deep balls....idk

We don’t need him to be a 1st team all conference guy(even though I’m sure Sankey has already penciled Arch in anyways), we just need him to play within the system and use his 220+lb body as a weapon in the run game. If we can get 3k passing yards with 25 TDs, along with 300+ rushing yards then that’ll be the most production since Hendo. I don’t think it’s impossible, get MM 1k yards and E Davis over 500. The rest will work itself out.

Side note: I hope Heup tinkers the offense just to piss off a 5-7 Nico at UCLA.

He’s definitely far from perfect but he’s got good arm strength, decent mobility, and experience reading defenses.

In an offensive system that had Drew Lock throwing 40+ TDs with a Mizzou supporting cast, I think he has the skillset to compete to run the offense. He needs to learn to slide though or SEC LBers will be trying to take his head off.

Im convinced that JG would have put up similar stats to Milton in our offense
Idk

He processed so slow and he was such a turnover machine. He was also slow. He maybe hits more wide open ones since he did have some touch.

I just think had he been here with Heup, Heup would have recruited over him as soon as possible. Like Bailey.

Joe actually did have some nice games that were well above what JG was capable of.
