The Vols refused to give up in either game. They came from behind both times. Many of us lamented our ability to put the games away from the start. Now, perhaps, we can celebrate our team's ability to persevere. Maybe that will be the crucial factor that takes us to the top, after all.

Exactly what I was thinking. Even when we were down by 21, I thought if we could just get a big play or two and make adjustments, we could still pull it out. The student section didn't give up at half time and it made a difference. After this I think we can hang in any game, so maybe we can make something happen against Bama.

I was glad that we won all three of our games the way we did. Winning close ones builds "team" like nothing else. Even if it's against weak teams. Sure, I wanted to see a playoff contender hang 60 on em' all, but those close ones are far more valuable. I think back to Bama 92' (even UT 98') as champions that didn't look like it until the end of the season. By the time a team goes through lots of close wins, it doesn't matter who is the opponent in the title game ... that team knows their gong to win.

And CBJ may be a better manager playing from behind. Forces him to put pedal to metal
