There were quite a few of you saying Butch threw Hurd "under the bus" or damaged his reputation by how he handled the Hurd injury. I got home early this morning and watched the game on DVR. What did I hear? It was reported that Hurd asked the coaches to not say what his injury was.
All of the same people calling for everyone to apologize to 74 and bashed the coach for mistreating a player should apologize. One of you in particular (Kilo Bravo) not only owe Jones an apology but you also still owe Byrd and his entire team an apology for advising him to transfer.

Y'all are quick to bash the coach and once again you're all wrong.

Thanks reader.

We have some "fans" who will jump on ANY opportunity to bash this coach. In spite of all the vast improvements we've seen since he took over. Every single aspect is much better.
He absolutely loves his players and anyone remotely close to the program knows this. You can see it in how he treats them and you can damned sure see it in how the players respond to him and respect him.
We truly do have some of the dumbest fans in all of football.

There is no reason for a coach to lie about a player's injury. If it is true that Hurd suffered a concussion, then Jones lied, at least once and probably twice. The reason that there were rumors about Hurd and what may have happened is because Jones stupidly tried to be secretive about the player. This is what happens when one decides not to be truthful or to cover up a situation. There was no need for it.

He was asked by HURD to do so. He took care of his player over giving you info you have no right knowing in the first place.

If you had an injury, do you go post it on Facebook? They're college kids not professional athletes. Jalen doesn't owe us anything.

I've been a fan since 77. I can't remember a team with this much heart. Even the 98 team.

There is this little thing called HIPPA, so, if the said player does not want the injury revealed, that is protected by law. This is not the NFL, the coaches do not have to release an injury report, and frankly, it is not any of our business.

No we don't, this stuff happens everywhere. Have you ever visited other teams' boards or listened to Finebaum?

Actually I have. And I stand by my statement. After the length we've come over the past 4 years and still this crap? We have SOME of the dumbest fans.

A lot of people do though. It's another reason I rarely go to FB. A person's personal should stay personal. IMO

Amen to this brother. I hear from several people how well informed/educated UT fans on this board present themselves and I agree.

I wonder if Swain will?
This goes to show that "insiders" don't know nearly as much as many boot shiners think they know.

Apology to Jones? You're assuming Butch gives a crap about what is said on a message board.

Then that's what CBJ should have said all along. His description of the possible injury, plus the rumor Hurd was benched plus all the other nonsense last week would have been abated.
I'm kind of glad CBJ will not discuss injuries from here on out.

So Jalen wanted it kept private so his uncle decides to come spewing info on a highly trafficked forum. Class act.

74 has done a huge disservice to Hurd by coming here, especially referencing him pull himself out of games and how he is bigger than the team. If his saying that here makes me wonder how much of his "family" is telling him that same cancerous message.
