To have a realistic shot at the Crystal ball (I'm not saying we do) you have to be ranked in the top 10 preseason polls.

Yep. My guess is we're still a week or two away from the actual AP Poll. Could be wrong though.

Seems like it wouldn't come out until the week before the season.

I was wondering this as well. Last years preseason AP Poll came out August 23 according to the SBNation article publish date. Hopefully it is out sooner rather than later.

I think they do it the week before the season to cut down on the amount of bit**ing they have to deal with from every not #1 team's fans.
