Aoc says electoral college racist

AOC calls the Electoral College a 'scam,' says it has a 'racial injustice breakdown'

What a pathetic woman. She female version of evil, (or the male, not sure who's more feminine) sadly the Marxists on here agree and believe it ahould be demolished.
The Constitution is racist.
The Flag is racist.
The National Anthem is racist.
The Founding Fathers are racist.
All Whites are racist.
The Economy is racist.
American Society is racist.
The Judicial System is racist.

Where would she be without racism?

She is correct. The two votes per state part dilutes the weight of the votes of people living in more populous states. The math is undeniable.

It also effectively discounts the black vote in presidential elections in the south. To be fair, I don't think that's the intention of those who support the electoral college, but it's an end result (same way it basically makes the votes of republicans in blue states irrelevant).

It's not the intention of the electoral college to be racist. But it does have a disparate impact on people of color because they tend to live in more densely populated urban areas that are adversely affected by the electoral college. A vote in Wyoming (predominately white electorate) effectively counts more than a vote in California (more diverse state). It's simple math guys. I know you don't like that she's right, but she is.

Incorrect. The electoral college represents the states not the people. The people have never elected POTUS the states have. The people cast their votes within their state of residence and the states apportion their delegates by their own method.

This diatribe is old and worn out but tell you what. Just find 38 states willing to change their influence with their peers, the other states, and you can have your way! Run along and work on that now. Ta ta.

A popular vote is just as problematic. California probably has 10 times the population of Wyoming. The electoral college keeps politicians honest and forces them to campaign just as hard in Cheyenne as they do in Los Angeles.

Thankfully our founders were way smarter than this dumb b and the few other morons who have agreed with her
The electoral college exists because the founders didn’t think the people could be trusted to vote for the president at all.

Lol no. It just forces them to campaign in swing states.

You can spin it anyway you'd like, but the EC is antiquated, to say the least. Right up there with the ban on quartering troops.

You’re the one spinning here. I’m pretty amazed at how well the electoral college still does a good job of representing their constituents... the states within the Republic.

I'm still trying to figure out if it's obstinance, obtuseness or some combo of the two with you.

Which States Have the Most Powerful Votes?
I choose door 3. It’s working exactly as it was intended and I recognize that.

Establish a constitutional amendment which captures the people electing POTUS in a pure Democracy and you might have a case. That has not and hopefully never will be our method.

I'm going 3/4 obtuseness, 1/4 obstinance.

I hate to break it to you, but Americans are in favor of the popular vote, and its only going one direction.

Actually you’re 4/4 on deflection and ignoring that the current method works exactly as it was intended to work and represents exactly who it was meant to. You’re kinda bitter, the girls didn’t like your review of 50 Shades of Grey?
