neither Alabama nor Uga will get 2 offensive TD's against them..

Sadly,that might be enough..

Im picking Tennessee right now in both 16-14~~

What have you been smoking. The defense is almost as bad as the offense.

Anyone who has watched our offense knows that they will give Bama or UGA plenty of chances to score, no matter how well the D is playing, that is all

Considering that Georgia is by no means unbeatable..... you have to keep in mind that we re playing in Athens with a QB who will be making his first road start. Now when you combine that with our current confidence level and the fact that we have kicked their teeth in the last two years means that they will be more than ready for us. If we lose by less than two TD's, I will be pleasantly shocked.

17th in the nation, you are WAY OFF, buddy

Oh really, golook at the offenseive ranks of the teams we have played, real juggernauts huh? Just wait untill we see a good running team, it will be ugly.

So let me see if I understand. A mid-level MAC team, N.Ill, puts 13 points on us playing their 3rd string QB for almost the entire 2nd half...and you think Alabama and Georgia will only score 14 on us. I don't think so.

Hey I'm just saying, considering the D was out there 2x as much as theirs were, they played pretty damn good

As of Saturday, before the games here is the offensive ranks of the teams we have played:

UCLA- 114
UAB- 59
Florida- 71
Auburn- 90
NIU- 52

Little to early to really see what they all are about, but we haven't faced an offense that comes close to what Georgia brings. It may get ugly.

Georgia is good, but there are a lot of o-line issues in Athens right now.

Defense play is decent. They have been put into bad situations due to offensive woes. Overall good play considering.

As GAVol said, their OL is weak and I think our DL is improving, esp. Dan Williams and the younger DEs. However, my decades long concern is that we are almost eerily bad on 3rd down, esp. 3rd and long.

We're last in the SEC in 3rd down defense, and that is against UCLA, UAB, AUB, and NIU...4 very poor offenses. I think our defense is appearing OK against poor offenses, and even then we can't get anyone off the field.

My guess is GA's skill players are sufficient to ring us up for at least 20 pts, which is more than enough to breeze through this game.

I just hope, if the season ends with Phil leaving people don't start throwing Chavis' name in the mix.

Also, when we needed the defense the most. When it boiled down to, "You can't let them get 5 yards" against Auburn, we back our DB's 7 yards and allow Burns to make an easy pass. When shook down it was a "communication error".

It might seem petty to say that since they played so well all game but it was some more of the same.

I agree with all of that. The bottom line is that if the offense can't stay on the field for more than 3 plays, it won't matter how good the defense plays.

Maybe uga will be looking ahead to vanderbilt or lsu, and UT can pull the upset.

Ah, the simplest explanation is often the best...our offense isn't very good.

Frankly, GA has the advantage in every category: offense, defense, special teams, and the intangible confidence factor.

As to the thread topic...if our offense was as good as our defense, we'd be one of the best teams in the SEC. But our defense isn't so good that it can carry this team.

the D has been ok. i didnt realize we got that many sacks last night. our run d has been pretty good. we havent had anybody try to pound it on us yet. i think that chavis and our undersized lbs will have a hard time the rest of the way especially with bama and georgia. reveiz played good but he is TOO SMALL and TOO SLOW to be mlb for tennessee. where is chris donald??? if there ever was an opportunity to get him on the field, it was last night. our 3rd down defense is and has been terrible for almost 5 years now. im sick and tired of this 3 down lineman on 3rd and mediums. defensive line has been pretty good up to this point. and im most impressed with our dbs and they way they been coming up to stop with the run and hitting people every play

"Georgia maybe looking ahead to vandy or lsu"

Lets hope so, maybe a win against GA will give us a confidence boost going into alabama, but I doubt it!

We don't know how good this d is, but they aren't going to allow only 14 points.

as Alabama proved, stop georgia's running game. Stafford isn't good enough to beat you by himself. The same is probably true for Nama
