With my smart a$$ reply I am indicating a fine education can be had on Rocky Top, but to ASSume said education is equal to more academically minded institutions is foolishness at best. I applaud the lettermen who have also attained the distinction of college graduate. That, is something no coach or game or individual can ever take away from you.

Oh and I apologize if I was a jerk.

No one can argue that UT is remotely comparable to the top-tier athletic/academic institutions. BUT a comparison has no ground to stand on if it isn't made on comprable terms. Comparing the level of esteem a degree holds in-between a public school is asinine. Again, comparing Tenn and Texas would really be apples to apples. They're both public. They both have high expectations of their student athletes. Maybe even Florida and Georgia who both have generally higher regarded academic prowess as well as the same student athlete expectations.

With that said, the direction UT has taken will make UT as a singular institution less enviable than it is making the entire UT system. At least that's how I understand it.
