Oh no... shades of 2001 all over again. A mobile QB that we will not have prepared for (or maybe not really be able to prepare for in this case given the minimal film available on him...).
True, better now than later. But mobile QBs scare the heck out of me...
One positive development, Perriloux(?) has proven to be nothing but a head case. This is a pretty big stage to suddenly become "the" man, if, that in fact is the case. We should be able to confuse the heck out of him. Contain, force him to make plays throwing the ball, don't let him beat us with his legs. I like our chances if he has to throw to win.
I noticed many of the LSU players getting injured during the Arkansas game. The same can almost be said for any SEC football team at this point of the season, but it just seemed that LSU had a few more than normal. Was there an official LSU injury report after the game?
That Flynn is a senior and he got the benefit of the doubt over a head case moron with an ego problem the day he stepped on campus.
Don't think this changes that much. Flynn is an athlete and he is able to scramble well. But the other guy, don't wanna spell his name out, is a lot bigger, stronger, a bit more mobile... basically like the past few black QBs they've had.
Flynn did hurt his shoulder in the Arkansas game when he dove in the endzone for a two point conversion and landed on his shoulder. As for Perrilloux, I don't necessarily think that he doesn't start because he "couldn't beat out" Flynn for the job, but Miles appears to have a case of stubborn senior-itis... he likes to stick with his seniors and stay loyal to them no matter the circumstances.
There is absolutely NO basis to believe this at this point.
RP is essentially the same player that Brent Schaeffer is. A nice runner with an average arm, that will beat you for a TD or two on the ground, but is also going to throw 2 or 3 balls a game square into your saftey's numbers.
Matt Flynn is athletic, you just don't equate him to be b/c he's white.
Anyway, let the excuses for LSU begin. I want Flynn and Dorsey to play every down, b/c I don't want to hear who we DIDN'T beat.
