anyone else a little envious?

Of Dan Brooks retiring?! Or, of Marion Hobby going to the NFL?? Not jealous in the least, Dan Brooks did a great job here and coached for several years at UT. Clearly, Marion Hobby wants to go back to the NFL and I wish him the best.

I'm envious of any major college with a major college head coach. UT is saddled by a good 2nd tier (MAC, ConfUSA, Sunbelt, etc) coach trying to be a major college coach. Mercifully, after the Scott promotion he is clearly a lame duck.

Butch has alienated Jay Graham and Tee Martin. I hope he stays away from former Vols.

Just curious, but how did Butch alienate these 2? Graham had the job here and decided to go elsewhere on his own (I think we upgraded) and Martin had the chance to come here and chose on his own not to accept the position. So how is that Butch's fault?

Agreed!! Graham took the big raise and tried to use it us and BJ let him go. TM wanted to rule the roost in order for him to return. BJ handled this as I would have. We upgraded over JG and who know about TM but he is happy and we should be too. I am not big on former star players who want to come back to pad their resumes. :mf_surrender:

Yeah just ask the airline that flew Tee to Knoxville that time CBJ offered him a job but his wife wouldn't let him take it ....that is called "alienation" isn't it?

You mean former players like George Cafego, Bobby Dodd, Johnny Majors, Phillip Fulmer, John Chavez, etc? Yeah, why would we have wanted them???

This is just a flat out lie. Both of these two had jobs here if they wanted them. You can debate about his coaching, development of players, and staffing but CBJ has done nothing to alienate any former players. He has done the exact opposite since day 1 on the job.

Wasting your time. That guy isn't happy unless he is calling for someone to be fired. Facts be damned.

I need to start treating these type people on Volnation like I do crazy people in public. Just go across the street and walk away. It is insane some of the crazy mess people think are facts when in reality it is only made up in their head.

There was friction between Graham and Jones, and Graham got the heck out.
Jones low balled Tee, who felt insulted, and definitely created a rift. Both were definitely Butch's fault.

Not sure about Swain but your statement was totally false and not sure what "many others" you're making up. You cannot name one time where CBJ alienated a former player. The two you mentioned had jobs if they wanted it. Alienating does not mean offering jobs. All in your head until evidence says otherwise. Former players have praised CBJ's efforts to bring former players back into the fold since the day he was hired.

Hell the man even managed to get Foster to come in and DJ the spring game. I won't respond to your post again. You live in your own head and there is no help for that.
