If they’re playing Morgan Wallen, it ain’t country music. Or at least the country music I grew up with.
“Mr. Purified Country,
Don’t you know what the whole thing’s about?

Is your head up your @$$ so far
That you can’t pull it out?

The world’s gettin’ smaller and
Everyone in it belongs.

If you can’t see that Mr. Music Executive
Why don’t you write your own songs?”

Wallen belongs for sure. In the play list of an under 30 year old who wouldn’t know real country if it hit them in the nose. Right there with Shaboozey, Florida Georgia Line and all the other nameless hat acts that are out there now. Never was a trurer song than “Murder On Music Row”. If one likes pop country pablum, I suppose it’s nirvana these days.

Morgan Wallen does have a lot of pop sounding country, but he also has some really retro sounding country. Also that’s the ones I really like.

For my part, I wouldn’t mind a little Sturgill over the Neyland speakers.

Now that I’d go for. “If you want it, you can have the crown!” Doesn’t get much better than that. I just don’t play it around my grandkids.

I also don’t mind a little Tyler Childers, Charley Crockett or Billy Strings.

Heard there was a petition out there to make this one the song. First time I ever heard it was by Jimmy Martin but this version by Billy Strings, Sam Bush, Molly Tuttle, Jerry Douglas etc is a good one. Probably too long but they could cut it down. Also probably too hillbilly for some but the words are good. I can hear it blasting to 100,000 people.
