I don't understand the fascination with that song - Just don't.

It hits all the hot spots for both today's old cronies, reminiscing about getting drunk on illegal mooshine, the Vietnam war, and hits today's young (and old) stoners, and it speaks to those who like fast cars and driving crazy. Throw that in with mentioning local landmarks and towns and playing up to those who want to fight for something just because it's illegal, mixed with a good beat and there you go....... I don't like it and don't want it but I see the draw, just wish one of these singers that "bleed orange" would have written any song that mentions Tennessee football...... but alas

And for those still hung up on Wallen: we can play this on third Saturdays

I agree. This is something that has to happen organically. Stop trying to manufacture a tradition… especially if it involves people trying to convince you to play country music.
If they’re playing Morgan Wallen, it ain’t country music. Or at least the country music I grew up with.

Chris Stapleton is from Kentucky. *oh...and...BTW...Steve Earle is from Virginia...

ALSO...Tennessee is the World Capital of Music! More music is/has been recorded here than ANY other place on Earth. It's ALSO the birthplace of Country Music (@GAVol you White Snake-Lover)...frankly...first off in Bristol, Tennessee (Originally!) before eventually landing and residing still today in Nashville.
Just ask this Dweeb -

There are many-MANY Tennessee-born singers and songwriters with GREAT music to select from...but making EVERYBODY happy, is just not gonna get done, I guess...even Dolly couldn't get it done...

P.S. I've ALWAYS said that THIS video playing on BOTH Jumbo-Trons...taken IN Neyland...and featuring "The Sheriff"...AND a song about Knoxville/East Tennessee called "Back Where I Come From" SHOULD "Resonate" with most. (AND only 4:45 long - perfect for pre-4th quarter TV time -and easy to sing along to...EVEN ends with a guy with a Power T hat on!)

But there are some real Kenny Chesney (Gibbs High School) "Haters"...'cause he "frauded Renée Zellweger" and they NEVER got over it (*she "Completes Them...")

Same. Other than mentioning Knoxville, it’s not particularly upbeat and would only get the 5% of fans that know the meaning behind it even remotely fired up. If you don’t have a song that everybody can get behind, then don’t have a song. Seems simple to me.

I don’t know how many more posts I’m gonna make it. Somebody has got to bring it up.
If at no other time, I’d love to hear that at our annual Halloween “Dark Mode” game. The synthesizer bagpipe sound would work well for the occasion.

This is in my opinion the perfect song.

I realize some are too caught up with who sings it - but right tempo - easy words and a sentiment all could agree on.
