If you want to try a change of pace, go up to Minnesota in the late summer/early fall and go Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. My family has a made a tradition of going up there ever since I was a little kid.
Just get a small boat, mount a trolling motor on it or troll near idle with an outboard, and use minnows as bait with a baitcasting reel and a spinner.
When those Pike strike, they strike hard and put up a nice fight. Tons of fun.
