I swore after the game that I would not look at VolNation at least until Tuesday. I think the game was a perfect storm of momentum killing screw-ups and just plain overconfidence. Bad, but nothing worth jumping off a ledge over.

Still, I did sneak a peak or two, tossed in a throw away comment, saw all the crap and retreated within about two minutes.

Life is too short to get as spun up as so many on here do. All the over-reactive angst, the downright hate and so much plain old ignorance. It really does get kinda depressing.

So now I will retreat again. Go Vols! (I do believe the real Vols will show up Saturday.)

I didn't look at the football forum all night because I knew there would be too many angry reactions. I think that may be a new rule for myself. When we are losing don't go on volnation during the game.

I pretty much took one most of summer. This place just gets damn whacked out in the off season.

In hindsight I think I came back a week too early? Oh well too late now

I had to look at the negavols reactions. It's like seeing a bad car crash and not being able to look the other way!;)

I've had this rule on here for a long time. After a loss or lackluster performance I wouldn't visit this section for anything for at least a few days.

The only time I take a volnation vacation is when I'm NOT on vacation. Been sitting on a beach drinking for a week and I have been pulling up volnation daily. The only time I don't look is when I have too much else to do. Maybe I'm just a sucker, maybe I'm addicted. IDK

I come around during football season and basketball. Then take the summer off until about a week before football.

Self-righteousness

Self-righteousness (also called sanctimoniousness, sententiousness, and holier-than-thou attitudes) is a feeling or display of (usually smug) moral superiority derived from a sense that one's beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the average person. Self-righteous individuals are often intolerant of the opinions and behaviors of others

The best discussions about the team rarely take place in the football forum.

I did nearly the same thing. This place gets unbearable when the hand wringers take over. I often wonder what some people do when they encounter a true setback in life.
