Any word on possible next-gen NCAA football games?

That is such horse****! The players do not need to be compensated! The game characters didn't look anything like their real life counterparts. Just because "#14 white guy" is Tennessee's QB in the game doesn't automatically mean it looks like Worley.

They also don't need to be charging us a full $60 dollars for a sometimes just roster update (and slightly tweaked play).

Or at the very least, we should be refusing to pay that much for it.

I always liked them because I felt like the players had tighter control where in Madden the players almost feel like they slide as if they're on ice.
I know what you mean. I loved the sprinting/power button. Tap A/X to sprint or hold it to charge for the power.

Why cant they just make a football game that's almost open source, Where you have so many slots for teams and it's customizable? Something like Pro Evolution Soccer? Something like that shouldn't take much effort from a big game developer. And it leaves so much development resources into getting the gameplay spot on.

The only thing about that is you wouldn't be getting all the real stadiums and the pre-game "pageantry" that is associated with each school. One thing I did like about the last few NCAA games is that they were beginning to capture all of the little pre-game traditions like the Sooner Schooner, The USC Trojan on horseback, the Florida State Seminole, the Auburn War Eagle, etc. The one damn thing they didn't have that pissed me off was with Tennessee, they didn't have the POTSLB forming the T and showing the team running through it. That is one of the highest profile pre-game traditions in college football! How could they leave that out??

Because it would be difficult as hell to program? Especially since the models that they seem to use for "bands" (presumably to save space) don't appear to be fully rendered "person" models.

I know this is s little off topic but I tried recreating an updated roster which I still need to do a little more but I'm pretty pleased. My Hurd literally runs like the real version which is awesome.

Maybe for last gen but I don't think the new gen systems would have any trouble at all.

A bigwig at EA said he'd like to get ncaa back in production but they have to wait until the courts decide the outcomes of several lawsuits against the NCAA. The game generated 80 million in revenue for EA year. That's a huge chunk of change. It's inly a matter of time before they release another one. I'd like it to be a completely revamped game though. They basically released the same game the last few years and slapped a 60$ price tag on it which really ticked me off.

Agreed. It would be nice to get a completely revamped version. Record all new commentary. Kirk and Brad have been saying the same crap since 2011 I believe with a few new phrases added in each year.

They could also finally fix the magic linebackers that have plagued the series forever. The ones who intercept every pass over the middle by jumping 10 feet in the air. Oh, and the psychic DBs who know where the ball is going even though they have their backs turned.

I always loved the linebackers jumping 13 feet in the air

If you guys want real and meaningful improvements, pray that EA does not pick it back up

Exactly. If NCAA gets picked up one day, it needs a reboot, and that means EA should not be the gaming company.

I like EA sports. The only football games I've ever liked more than ea were the NFL game day games by 989 sports.

One good thing that should come from this is that we should be getting actual player names already included once all the court battles are settled.

The 989 games were great.
