Any talk about checkering Neyland for Florida?

All traditions were new at one point or another. I think it looks great and we should keep it up, would love to be a part of it whenever I'm finally home for football season again.

I’ve been to a few of them. Unfortunately, we only won one of them lol

Definitely justifies buying knock off bootleg versions, especially if they still have the Adidias logos or none at all!

Why can’t we do an orange out and everyone wear orange? I don’t understand why anyone wears any other color to games? Orange is what shows up on tv. No grey, no white, no black... wear ORANGE!!!!

I hope not! I'm sick of Butch-style gimmicks. It's been done too much as it is. If we keep it at all, it only needs to be pulled out rarely to make it more of a special thing.

The uniforms I can respect cause they respect the 1998 national championship team. But it makes me sick that Kentucky checkers when it has no significance. When I was walking to the game with a Gator friend in 2015, he asked me why do we checker? I told him it was "to piss him off". Until I learned that General Neyland told our runners to run for the checker board. And its there. On the bell tower of Ayers Hall. Our checker board has significance. Its significant that I ran for the checker board on those icy steps every MWF for that 7:50 AM calculous exam. The checkers are all Tennessee. We are not Alabama.

If we're going to do it, we better do it for UF. No sense in doing it for Bama or potential sparse attendance game late in the season... won't play for the cameras as well. I personally like it, and don't consider it a gimick like grey uni's...it's a "fan thing" that we kinda took the idea from Oklahoma and ran with it to the point that we're associated with it now more than really any other team, because of the size of our stadium and passion of our fans.

I love how everyone thinks this or that is a gimmick. I bet at one point Rocky Top was a gimmick too. The Vol walk or running through the T probably were too

Most schools do a black out or a white out, the checkerboard Neyland is unique and ours. It’s an amazing spectacle and really shows off our fans.

Not every new idea is a “gimmick”’some are the beginnings of beautiful traditions

It is a beautiful site to see but make no mistake, its a gimmick. Not just use but every school that does it. Its used to build enthusiasm amoung participants. To me, in this case it looks like we are trying to build it for a game most of know we are lilely to lose whether we admit it or not. Thats why i dont like it in this case.

I love seeing Neyland checkered, it's beautiful and totally awesome!

It's not a gimmick, it's a fan thing that should help unify all our fans and bring us all together and make us stronger.

Personally, I'd like to checker Neyland 2 times every season.

1st during the floriDUHHH game early in our season and a 2nd time later in our season, it's just awesome.

It should become as much a Tradition as the Vol walk and running through the T.

I'd also bet that the kids we're recruiting also think it's awesome and anything that can help our recruiting is always a good thing.

This new fad needs to turn into a tradition. I think its dope... It's an exciting layout to walk into and it hypes another opportunity to squash the gators. The biggest rivalry for us needs to have something turned into a tradition like this every time we play. love it.
