Any news on Prater?

If you're expecting a commitment, don't count on one IMO. I think this is only his first visit to UT. If we secure one of his five official visits after today, then I would call it a success. JMO

I think the goal with him this trip is to get an official this fall. A verbal would be a big surprise to everbody I think. OU is gonna be tough to beat out.

You all dont think if we sign a qb in the next couple of months that he wont consider us?

i think he is going to consider us regardless of if we get a qb in a month or two because he knows they will solve that problem and we will be taking someone whether it is juco or a good prospect this year. the real question is with the recent success of programs like usc and ou in the types of offenses that utilize big reciever targets, will we be in his final decision? to that i dont know the answer.

and about his visit, i would assume he is spending the entire day on campus and around knoxville doin stuff so noone will likely know anything till tonight or tomorrow morning. and there probably wont be an article about it anywhere until tomorrow afternoon or the next day.

My friend called me and told me that he seen Prater, a really hot blonde girl (LPE?), Prater's family, Coach Chaney, and Coach Wilson coming out of Neyland. That's the only info I've heard from his visit so far. The VQ guys must have all died...

we got some commits that are going to be in his ear up til the day he decides, which is good news. but in all honesty, i really dont see him choosing to come to UT. its going to be real hard swaying him from oklahoma imo.

“Their offense is fluid,” he said. “It just moves. It’s a great offense that gets receivers the ball, and the offense is a pro-style offense to get you ready for the NFL.”

Prater said the experience of UT’s staff in the NFL would increase his professional opportunities.

“That’s why you’d love to be in that type offense,” he said. “The offense will get rolling and get you ready. That’d be perfect.”

Prater said he’s decided on two official visits this fall: USC on Sept. 5 and UT on Sept. 12.

No official visit for Oklahoma yet : )

Correct me if I am wrong, but my take on this is that he is going to either go to USC or UT. I would say it is going to depend on USC's depth chart, how he likes USC's environment compared to ours, and maybe proximity to home. Seems to me like we may have at least a 50/50 shot if not better.

On a side note: doesn't OU have a spread offense?

We lock this kid down with the wide outs we have commitments from already and we sign a decent quarterback who can step in next year and throw the ball the pains of the last few years may be a distant memory. We'll need a few more lineman too but things are starting to shape up nicely for a great 2010-11 season. Let's hope we can get a good quarterback signed or one of the guys we already have signed can step up and fill the role. Kiffin and the staff are doing an excellent job. Land this kid!

If we land Prater, surely one of the top quarterbacks(Bray?) will change their mind and come to Tennessee. Also expecting to reel in offensive linemen Stone.

I'm really not understanding these QB's.

The Wide outs are marching in. (I know Prater's not a done deal yet)

Bryce Brown. (nuff said)

The QB that doesn't jump in on this, will regret it!
