Looking for hotel suggestions outside of downtown. Obviously not a run down trash hole, but maybe not 200 plus a night stuff neither.

If you're driving in from the west, Market Place around Cedar Bluff has some 3 star hotels that are nice and clean and very affordable. Usually around $85-$90 per night plus taxes. Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff, Red Roof Plus, Drury, Best Western to name a few. K Town Bar and Grill, Famous Dave's Bar-b-Q and Mulligan's are walking distance. Smokey Mountain Brewery and Calhoun's are about a 5 minute drive.

Poor guy got roasted for that post. I hope that he knew that it was all in good fun.

I'm driving down from Knoxville on the 31st and coming back on the 3rd. (Friday-Sunday). Is anyone interested in splitting a hotel in the Lakeland area (much cheaper, right between Tampa and Orlando). Or is anyone interested in carpooling down? As of right now I'm going alone but that's a looonnng drive to make by yourself. Haha

Cedar Bluff -I 75 has a lot of reasonable hotels, and a cracker barrell for breakfast Sunday mornings.

Lots of options west of downtown! There's a Courtyard, Hampton Suites, Hilton Garden, Holiday Inn Express (all fairly new) by the Paper mill exit, a new Drury Inn, a new Element (Westin), a Home 2 by Hyatt and a Hampton by Cedar Bluff exit, a new Tru Hotel, Homewood Suites, Springhill Suites by Lovell Rd exit.
All nice properties.

I used to book hotels in december or january for the next season. Before they raised prices. Can always cancel if not needed.

That was 12 -15 years ago

doesn't help now, but for future reference.
