Thought it was extremely cheesy. The Willie Beamon music video was pretty funny though.

i never saw all of this movie. but for some reason remember a scene where an eye of an injured player is laying on the field after a play. sort of took the dark side of the game to the extreme.

The most shocking thing about the movie was that Lawrence Taylor could actually act a little.

Sports movies as a whole are always iffy for me. For every good one, there are about 5 bad ones.

I am ok with cheesy sports movies as long as there is that one great moment in it. Pacino's speech is that for this movie.

If I recall correctly, the UT players held a team meeting in Neyland Stadium the night before the Cal game in 2006. During the meeting, they played Pacino's speech on the jumbotron.

That wasnt in the origional theatrical cut it was only in Oliver Stone's DVD cut. I thought the movie was great up until that point and once that point came i thought that was way over the top and stupid. Seems like Oliver Stone finds a way to have that effect in every one of his movies.
