I know that Cedric Tillman is day to day and will be a game time decision, but is there any news I may have missed regarding Dylan Sampson? I think he might be the most talented back we have.
You can think that all you want, but most people care more about what the coaches think.I think he's definitely the most talented. I don't really know why he doesn't start or at least play more. Usually, in these situations, it's because a freshman RB doesn't know the blocking assignments, but given that Small is awful in that regard (missed 4 pickups against Florida), you might as well play the more talented (by far) RB.
I'm pretty sure they use the same depth chart all year and don't really change itHe is listed as third string on the depth chart released an hour ago.

That depth chart still has Burrell listed as a starter. Probably not the most reliable source of information. He is listed as third string on the depth chart released an hour ago.

I think people are just desperate for that game-changing breakaway speed at running back that we haven't seen in a while. No slight against Small or Wright, they're good running backs. He’s had a total of 18 touches against only Ball State and Akron which were terrible teams. You are not alone with the high praise of Sampson, but I just don’t understand how folks have determined this when he’s not had a touch against a P5 defense? Hope he’s the next Travis Stevens but he’s going to have to show me something against a legit team before I move him up past Small and Wright. JMO
Given that we have Fant taking snaps at RB in his absence, I think blocking is high on the minds of the coaches.I think he's definitely the most talented. EDIT: Upon further review, this article from VOLSWIRE is fake news. Warren Burrell is listed as starting CB. My apologies for posting info from this source.
Maybe, but I love that little option he and hooker ran. I think we should use Sampson in his own little packageI don't think there's necessarily going to be any updates. He was dressed for the Florida game, they just only played 2 backs. As long as Small and Wright are healthy, we might not see a ton of Sampson.
Well aren't you... special... having all that insight that's better than guys being paid to do the job.The eye rarely lies man.
Sampson is faster, quicker and shiftier than both small and wright.
I am not saying he will for sure be a better overall back then them...that will depend on his work eththic and maturity.... I'm just saying the guy is much more naturally talented looking.
A lot of people were saying the same about Kamara over Hurd when he was here and everyone said no trust the coach lol.
Also, Heupel started Milton over Hooker last year....so....yeah, I'm not trusting any coaches based off what they see in practice anymore. Even ones as good as Heupel. Would like to see him get some strategic touches out in open field this game.
Small missed some pickups but the UF win was one of his better games as a Vol.I think he's definitely the most talented. I don't really know why he doesn't start or at least play more. I would like to see Fant in some short yardage and goal line situations. We need some beef to give more push. I don’t want to get Hooker killed in these short yardage situations. He takes plenty of hits
