Has anyone been this anxious before a game? I am 31 years old and have followed the Vols since the Peyton Manning days, watching games with my dad. I have been a faithful fan throughout my life and can’t recall being so excited/ anxious for a game. It’s getting hard to concentrate at work without checking what’s happening on ESPN or other media outlets talking about the Vols! Is anyone else feeling like this? GBO

I'm not, I'm comfortable even if we lose. We're playing with house money. Going 11-1 after the crap we've gone through is fine. I feel we've over achieved.

If they win that will be awesome and hopes of a national championship still on the table. If they lose, that sucks, but I try to keep in mind that this is just a game kids almost half my age are playing in. I’ll still have my family, job, hobbies, and friends. It’s just a game at the end of the day. Nothing I personally do has any impact on the outcome. I’m not drawing up plays or working out with the team. So if UT does win (or lose) the outcome is 100% out of my control. FWIW I think UT pulls it off 42-24. This is a special year.

We’re the talk of the town because it’s such a “feel good” story. The media is living the clicks. But UGA will be still be favored by more than a touchdown. And when all the “experts” start picking Saturday, I’d say 90+% pick UGA. No one will be surprised if we get beat. And, it’ll STILL be a “feel good” story for us.

It’s weird but I really don’t. I don’t think think I’ve ever had more of a “playing with House money” feeling going into a big game.

I don't know if it's the seemingly unbreakable calmness of CJH or Hooker's business as usual field presences but I too am remarkably calm for a game of this magnitude.

11-1 will still far exceed my expectations. Playing in a NY6 bowl is better than playing in the dukes mayo bowl if it’s any consolation to not being in the playoff. This train isn’t slowing anytime soon with the NIL money flowing and retaining the key parts of the staff.

Was much more nervous the week of Florida. Alabama week, I felt confident we would give them a game, and wasn't that nervous. This week, I have a lot of confidence in our team and leadership, and I have confidence we will play to the best of our ability.

A part of us died during the Kiffin, Dooley, Jones and Pruitt years. We were just going through the motions hoping for a miracle. Heupel has resurrected this fanbase from depths none of us could have ever imagined. It’s great having a new appreciation for our beloved Vols and enjoying every moment. It’s been glorious.

Yeah for me each of the big games so far have had me a little nervous with Florida being the worst. This one is no exception, although our season isn't lost if we lose Saturday.

None, I was a wreck Bama week, not this one. I think I was more nervous for Bama because I still didnt know if we were for real or not. Now I KNOW we can beat anybody any Saturday. Even if we lose we can sneak into the playoff. Georgia is the favorite, zero pressure.

yeah I’m nervous though it’s just a game. It’s a @good” nervous as we are relevant again. It’s so difficult to make the playoffs, hence my angst.

Win or lose, proud of this team, and we still have a shot at playoffs regardless.
Go Vols!

Considering that my biggest goal for the season when it started was just to get one of the big three beaten and play the others close, this season has already wildly exceeded my expectations. I used to feel a lot more anxious during Florida week back in the 90s wondering if our season was going to be wrecked in the third week. This is much more relaxed for me at least

No nerves at all. None. Back when Tennessee was a perennial top-5 team in the 1990s and early 2000s, I used to stay up nights before big games. Read everything I could about matchups. I channeled a lot of excess energy channeled into it. I could NEVER get to sleep the day before games, not until 2 or 3 in the morning.

This year is the first in forever that's felt like those good old days, except I just don't worry about it now. I think I was a little apprehensive before Alabama, but even then it wasn't the same stress that it used to. Living through the worst 15 years in program history has tempered my attachment a bit. Given me a different perspective. Tennessee is my home, and the Vols are still a part of me and who I am, so there is excitement. But this has been too good a year to get nervous now.

Whatever will happen Saturday, will happen. I'm rooting for the team to do well. Tennessee's good. We'll find out how just how good in three days. I certainly hope they win.

But nervous? No.

Now, excited? Hell YES.

Honestly, I’ve been fairly relaxed this week. Everyone knows that Georgia is good and we are going to Athens. That being said, my wife may have me committed the week before the SEC Championship Game if Tennessee makes it.

The thought of a possible rematch with Alabama would have me sick, TBH.
