Another UCLA QB heads for the door

I kind of feel bad for UCLA honestly.

Face it, when it comes to college football-they are basically harmless.

They really don't deserve Nic and 2 of his spawn.
.
I feel bad for their fans (all 10 of them) who are going to have to put up with this, and the players who are getting pushed aside to placate the ego of Daddy Nic.

I have no sympathy for the program itself or the coaches. They brought this on themselves

Check out their message boards. Most are ecstatic about all of this and see multiple years of success in their future.

The fact that they saw Nico as a clear step up from Aguilar after a full Spring practice with him ought to give us pause. Hopefully either they are idiots or Merklinger is the guy.

4-star QB enters NCAA transfer portal in the wake of Nico Iamaleava's decision to transfer from Tennessee to UCLA

UCLA Bruins redshirt freshman quarterback Dermaricus Davis is entering the NCAA transfer portal.

I guess that explains why they offered his brother who turned them down, then offered him again. No telling what deal was cut between NIC and UCLA. UCLA stupid to think the current QBs would hang around and watch.
Aguilar is what he is a QB on UT staff. We needed 3 QBs he has a great resume, room to grow and will have a challenge to secure the starting position.
This is not the NFL and felt that Augilar and the others would hang and watch NICO perform his magic. At some point NICO is going to have to prove he is as good as he thinks he is, but he is going to have to mention his teammates as well.

But when was the last time UCLA had this much national media coverage? As bad as it may be on the field, they gotten a lot of attention.
Meh. Short lived coverage. Like two weeks. If they don't win, then it won't be a conversation during the season nationally

I took a gander at their schedule a few days ago

Looked pretty brutal honestly. 5-7 or 6-6 absolute ceiling. Good news is that the floor is probably like 4-8

They open against Utah. Willingham will probably make sure Nico spends most of the day on his butt. Should provide some nice cathartic viewing

Second game is vs UNLV which is a tough draw right now. That game is going to determine a great deal. Win and maybe they go to a bowl. Lose and they could go into free fall.

Nah. I see this as a no win situation for UT. Take all 3 of our QBs, toss 'em in a box and shake well. You'll still be rolling the dice and playing with fire in this league. While it might not have been as uncertain with Nico, just his presence and influence in the locker room might have cost us a game or two.

If neither of us make the playoff the powers that be have to do a UT/UCLA bowl game. That would be awesome.

Meh, Nico is gone from UCLA after this season-either via transfer (most likely) or he will declare (and fall in the draft).

I doubt playing UCLA in a bowl would be cathartic and would just reflect a very poor season by the Vols

THat family will be far worse the Prime in the draft process. If Nico declares after this season, he will likely go UDFA.

Most attention they've had since Troy Aikman. Or maybe the back to back years they beat us in 08/09.
