Another Teacher-Student Sex Scandal

To be 16 (and in 8th grade, the last of "middle school," one would have to fail twice if not 3 times).
back in 2003 I had an 8th grade classmate who was 16. had her drivers license and everything. school freaked out about having to provide student parking.

I can't remember the exact circumstances but I think she was held back, not failed.

When my son was running middle school track, one of the other team’s member drove himself to the meet.

Failed, held back, same same.

Point is, it's not the norm. Being 16 years old in the 8th grade is very rare. The typical age for an 8th grader in the United States is 13–14 years old, with most students turning 14 during the school year. Turning 16 in 8th grade usually implies a delay of 2–3 years.

I imagine there would still be more 16 YO in middle school than middle schoolers having relations with their teachers..... I would hope that both are small numbers.
